people keep freaking out because we're ruining out planet. Which is true no doubt. But it's pretty amazing to know there are people like this out there who can allow us to adapt to the changes we ourselves our creating.
@iceyflames7 They are perfectly anchored. Housing spot will be carefully selected for future development to prevent houses swap away by strong water current and Dutch has experience in the field.
@ablnoozy That won't help the human race at all ha ha, by spending trillions of dollars that we don't have to relocate cities to higher levels, destroying more of our natural forests and using up more resources than we have (that one also pertains to these new ideas as well) and then the pollution levels go higher because there are less trees to support the carbon cycle, but that's only a small part of why that wouldn't be logical.
It is good that architects are thinking up new ways and new concepts of living on water. Now someone should really think how to prevent mold growing and having musty smell inside these buildings.
Amazing floating structures. Great way to think outside the box to find solutions for the world's climate change challenges. Let's learn from the Netherlands and share our ingenuity and talents. On twitter @journeyzero
This is soo bad, so sad that the day is comeing where we must need to consider, desighn floating citys..
Earth will suffer greatly down to man kinds intervention and yet we still find ways to get around it, to do a bodge job, thousands of other animal species will die and yet we dont go down with a ship of our own makeing?
We should be consintrating on preventing this outcome, not considering ways we can live with this outcome!
No usually house boats are not fit for the sea or any waves (saves costs/is irrelevant perhaps) - not that doing that would be impossible or hasnt been done somewhere.
@humanidt yea and u can just park your house in any available space next to that island,i just hope they invent enough horspower engines which can move a damn house
WE need to make a fucking ULTRA big SPACE SHIP and find a new planet earth is over populating! Like in the movie Wall-E

And who can afford this? With unlimited money nothing is unsolvable but with limited resources you can't do that much.
