I think FIF is one of the only bands (that I know of) that sounds nearly identical, of not the same, comparing their live shows to their studio recordings
Anyone can apreciate the musical talent of this group, but treannadawn im surprised you wernt impacted by the message this band sent out, they certainly influenced me, this and i feel lucky have to be their greatest songs, excluding every new day(the end is here) which nothing compares too...
I lived down the street from Reese (lead singer) for 10 years. I am the only satanist i know who went to all of their shows in this part of the country between 1997 and .this shits awesome
@TreannaDawn haha what is a satanist really, what are the religious requirements? you make me laugh, a practicing satanic worshipper who never misses a five iron show. somebody's running short on attention
When I was a teenager, my parents literally FORCED me to continue with their church activities, as a compromise, they allowed me to start going to my friends youth groups. It kept me out of the trouble I wanted to get into, gave me a good work out, a as a musician, I can appreciate music as the universal language that it is. Whether it is speaking about religion, social freedom, or even something historical really doesn't matter to me. I rarely hear lyrics anymore, those are just on the surface
ran outta space, anyways, I was invited to the Value Pak and FIF show in Denver by the youth group leader at one of my friends churches and I tagged along just to see what it was about. This was circa 1997. I had just discovered ska, and though I was much more into Mephiskapheles, I found FIF's songs to not only keep me energized, but they were fascinating.
I think Reese would be all for it... probably more the fact that the rest of the band are all having kids at the moment. A little tough to tour with young ones. ;D But I'm with you... it'd be freakin' awesome to see a comeback tour.
Actually their Debut album was called "It's Funny, But Not Very Original" it was a 7" vinyl they recorded the weekend before their first tour. They forgot to write Stephanie, Scott's (then) future wife, into the thank you's, so they stayed up all night before they left on tour writing her name in.

FIF's first album was amazing. Upbeats and beatdowns...
Still one of my favorite 3rd wave ska albums.
