I don't like One Piece. I've read the 2 volumes of it and here are my points on stuff that is wrong in my opinion:

1. The concept: Luffy is the worst pirate ever. For christ sake, sack a town! burn down a village, kill some people.

2. The devil fruit: Apples that give you superpowers... Like lava and sh*t. Radioactive spider is realistic compared to this.

3. Luffy=Goku: Your typical stupid, always hungry super hero with a heart of gold. Ugh. Only worse.

4. Art style. Don't like it. Pure opinion.

@eranamter 2 volumes? Really? Common you can't judge a manga with over 600 chapters by two volumes alone, there is so much development and growth in One Piece that it is unreasonable to do so. Ofcourse you're entitled to your opinion but I encourage you and others to read a bit more before coming to such conclusions on a Manga as vast as One Piece.

@SombreroNinja1 Yeah, but I just don't find the main character (Luffy) likable. He's just too generic (in my humble opinion). I mean, even if I only read the first two volumes, I should at least care about a character, or like one? The humor is good though, but in my opinion, a story should be good from the start, not +- 300 chapters in.

@eranamter But that's the thing about One Piece, there is really good character development. Hence the characters aren't at all static and change greatly as the story progresses, therfore you really can't make accurate judgements about them so early. For me the characters became much more likable and complex as I went on. Also there are many instances later on that support the fact that Luffy is not a generic hero, he is a pirate after all and it would be pretty strange otherwise.

for one piece, i suggest you watch the anime first dear then read manga

The Art is awesome Oda is so good at detail you gotta see a little detail like pandaman that sometime you even have to use Binocular to see it lol

overall the art is just unique and you will get use to it

OMG YOU EITHER NEED TO START WATCHING ONE PIECE OR READING, naruto and bleach are still great anime's that I watch but the amount of fillers and arcs that are sometimes not related to the story they have presumably bleach is just too much I mean right there has been like 10 episodes if fillers with naruto and then after that we may get to see him train or it could be skipped but I dnt knw whereas with one piece there is very little filler and no training arc it is just straight up time skip int

in my opinion bleach is the worst of the 3, the first 3 seasons got everyones attention but then the story plot vanished and it went bad, but i still prefer naruto over one piece as their is more twists and more emotion as their is more deaths and their is more to the fights other than willpower as their is a lot of little tricks involved too, although i still love one piece its a genious story which is capable of putting fillers anywhere and still keep intrest for years as it is 1 long adventur

I love One Piece, I first hated it because:

1. I never liked pirates

2. Too long

3. The art sucked

When I read couple of hundreds of chapters, it was awesome! I udnerstand how some people will find it a huge turn off but everyone should give it a chance!

i will totally read one piece from the start .. i know oda's way of drawing is unique but , have u ever heard of " never judge a book by its cover"? well it fits perfect in one piece , because its amazing and has a good storyline.i got in to one piece last year and i started from the first chapter right now im on the recent chapter and one piece has got more epic ness in it . my opinion is that u will love it . and this pirates are much better than jack sparrow i assure u that.. :D

Hi this is my first time viewing, i would be really interested if you started One Piece. I'm all caught up but it would be fun going back to the early chapters and see how new-comers view it. The first few arcs are jarring, i had to watch One piece 3 times before i got hooked, but when you make it too the Arlong Arc everything comes together. A little tid-bit keep track of everything, simple stares from the first chapter come into play hundred of chaps later. OP is king of foreshadowing

One piece is better than naruto and bleach together. It is slow paced at the beginning so it might take a while to get into it. But, once u reach the ennies lobby arc u will become one piece's bitch. The story is like wine, the longer it goes the better it gets.
