  • Is it possible that spice is DMT. It's most powerfull and bizarre psychodelic substance on earth,

  • "ANDRE (THE DEUCE) WILL DIE" - JESSE

  • Why do I remember this starring Mark Hamill as Paul Atreides and Patric Stewart as Gurney Halleck?

  • Why does everyone hate this movie? I think Lynch nailed the characters and the atmosphere.

  • The music is missing damn it!

  • The begining of the trailer is cooler than he newer trailer. But the movie isn't. Better watch the Dune miniseries here on YouTube

  • Is there any news of this getting a UK Blu-Ray release?

This is one film I go out of my way to get the very best picture! ^_^

  • 0:59

    Star Wars sound effect .__.

  • i agree. this is lynch? what horse manure for geeks.

  • lol'd at "Emperor - We cum for you!" 2:19

  • does this movie has a scene of an sand creature eating a kind of 'space turtle' and spiting off the shell?

  • @CafimABF Haven´t seen Dune yet, but the scene you describe reminds me to "Enemy mine", Directed by Wolfgang Petersen. In that movie, there were giant monsters living under the sand, which used a sort of "tentacle" in order to catch space turtles or bad luck humans and drakks. One the tentacle was severed or lazer-shot, the entire monster showed his pretty face.

  • @guasnarf Man! Thank you a lot! Is that the movie I was looking for in so much time!!

  • @CafimABF You welcome dude, greetings from Chile!

  • The friend of STAR WARS. I love it!

  • play the song Astral Projection - Dancing Galaxy while u watch this

  • Can someone do a parody trailer of Avatar/Dune? that would be cool and funny to have scenes from this movie set to Avatar's trailer audio since both movies are similar and another one Cameron borrowed from for his new movie.

  • 10191... chuck norris will be dead by then

  • huh...westwood games...?

  • David Lynch Seriously??

  • my name is a killing word

  • where's elijah wood looking constipated?

  • @jasonismyhomie naw he isnt in spiceworld the movie hes in lord of the dance. same thing though just with prancing elves.

  • @harveyderf Spiceworld is in peril! Did I hear that old bald dude say they were gonna destroy the Spice girls? That would be like traveling back in time and destroying the pyramids or the Sistene Chapel! OR THE MOONSTAR! I weep for the future... Plus, Scary Spice can prance her ass off better than any fruity little elves! Gnomes are cool, though... They kinda resemble little turds...

  • @jasonismyhomie Yeah theyre trying to destroy the Spice Girls because 'HE WHO CONTROLS THE SPICE GIRLS CONTROLS THE UNIVERSE'. You see in this most cherished film and book, The Spice Girls are much valued resource and spice up your life. The best science fiction weaves elements of reality with fantasy and science to create a story we can all relate to and that story is how The Spice Girls rocked the world, and in this film the planet TARDICACA

  • @harveyderf Is this the Great Tardicaca in which a Brave young warrior by the name of Travis hails? The Mighty one, who was birthed on the MOONSTAR centuries before our feeble planet was ever coughed out into the universes rompers? For if this is so, then the Spice Girls are DOOMED! He is of the Berzerker clan, that originated on the peninsula Dingle, which is much famed for their berries. These berries set them into BERZERKER MODE where they destroy all in their way! MY LUV 4 U IS TICKING CLOCK

  • @jasonismyhomie the scene is set for the most epic battle in the universe, that is good vs evil, Travidion vs The Spice Girls. Then what we have is Lynch's finest work as he paints a harrowing portrait of Travis' black heart and his journey to enslave The Spice Girls, like he did the dream warriors. Travidion's evil is like a black hole consuming and destroying everything in it's path. Only the Spice Girls can say STOP RIGHT THERE, THANK YOU VERY MUCH and put an end to his reign of terror,

  • Very underrated and great film.

  • dude this movie is what got me into science fiction. The book... ten times better than any movie

  • @goronsam better for sure, read em all, maybe not ten times better though, always nice to have some visuals... and I really love that victorian + tech thing they have going on. :)

  • The Fremen are actually Muslims

  • Why is there no music on this trailer?

  • funny

  • Miss Madsen said it is the year 10,191. What would happen if we still exist after 2012? What would do if you were to live in Arrakis?

  • trailers used to be very boring

  • trailer sucks. movie kicked ass (for a 84 sci fi movie). book was pretty good. also sting from the police acting debut

  • @jimromerulez I agree, and it's such a damn shame that this movie gets pissed on so much. I mean, so what if it wasn't faithful to the novel? Most movie adaptations never are anyway. This is a truly great and hugely underrated sci-fi masterpiece, in my opinion.

  • @TheAltair4

Well it's true fans that shun this version, and i still think Children of Dune is the best Dune movie ever since they got it right. Do you agree?

  • @Johnlindsey289 Well, i'm as much of a fan of the novels as anyone, but i still like this movie a lot and the Sci-Fi channel adaptation as well, but i agree that Children of Dune was a better movie overall than both of them.

  • @TheAltair4

Since you had Dune toys, did you also had any Dune cards or other Dune merchandise like coloring book? and did you know that pamphlets were handed out at box-office stands when this came out for christmas time of 1984? Toto did a great soundtrack. What do you think of the extended edition?

  • @Johnlindsey289 My brother and i had all of the Dune toys and some coloring books as well. Yeah this movie has a great soundtrack and i much prefer the extended edtion, which is much more similar to the novel and cuts out some of the weirder more disturbing Lynchian moments that were present in the theatrical version. The scene i'm mostly thinking of is the one where the Baron pulls the guys heart plug out. Ugh! That scene simply wasn't necessary at all and i'm glad it's not in the extended cut.

  • @TheAltair4

They did gave out pamphlets when it came out in theaters to teach people about languages, characters and worlds as a cheat-sheet. That's the problem of doing such things even with a narration in the beginning which meant the film was in trouble.

Do you think The Matrix is the same thing as Dune? i mean outcast in a new world, fall in love with lovely woman, the energy like the spice, Agent Smith and others being like the harkkoeans and same thing of being a powerful messiah

  • @Johnlindsey289 Well, most futuristic or otherworldly sci-fi / fantasy films have some form of narration in the beginning to try and help establish the world or worlds the story takes place in. Personally i've never really liked it or found it necessary because i like to leap right into the story completely fresh and then try to figure out what the world, characters and languages are about all by myself as the film progresses. And yes, Dune and The Matrix both bear certain similarities plotwise.

  • The only possible reason I'd watch this movie (it looks stupid, no offense) would be to see Sting acting. I love the Police's music, and I've seen a lot of their videos. After seeing Synchronicity II, I thought, "Sting would make a good actor."

  • Well fortunately trailers have improved since

  • Wow. Old trailers are awful... Or at least this one is.

  • @blasterchief123 i was gonna say till you said or at least this one is lol......as i love trailers like Rocky 4 or Predator,The Abyss for example this one was over the top but i expected that1what did you mean old trailers are awful or meaning this one?

  • @blasterchief123 Well, your opinion sucks ass!

  • that is so crazy thats virgina madsen i just saw her on tv earlier

  • I don't remember Baron H. flying around cackling, all warty like.

  • Jon LaFontain voice over? Sounds like it.

  • In 2012 leaves a new film "Dune", let in it will add third nation: Ordos and let in a new film, will show fight on military technicians as it is in videogames "Dune": Sonic Tank, Devastator , Deviator and etc

Let in a film there will be fantastic buildings from ideas about Dune: Windtraps, Vehicle Factory , Palace etc. And then this film will be very self-sufficient, very much is not similar to others (in what loan that of things) and very entertainment, founders of this film make, as I speak

  • Most likely this film is competitor "Captain Power and Soldiers of the Future" and "Star Wars". As this film as well as the previous two films - is Space "Saga". Good film, good idea of a film about two nations struggling with each other Atreides and Harkonnen. Innovations in design of robots in this film are in huge combines. Dune is more interesting to me "Star Wars"

  • One of the most boring movies I have ever seen.

  • Comment removed

  • sting hijo de puta ye odioç

  • I WILL KILL HIIIIIM!!!!!!

  • "He who controls the spice controls the future."

Wasn't there a quote in 1984 that stated "He who controls the past controls the future"?

  • baron harkonen is a floating puke

  • great movie

  • Einer der geilsten Science Fiction Filme überhaupt!

One of the greatest science fiction movies ever!

  • Akflygirl,

The 1984 movie was entertaining, but its nothing compared to the sci fi mini series which was faithful to the book.

The sci fi series did a good job concerning the main problems with following any kind of charasmatic leader.

  • I heard David Lynch never even read the book.Hell i doubt he even read the script.

  • This film wasn't faithful enough to the original novel, wtf was David Lynch thinking?

  • He "reinterpreted" the novel - with, surprisingly, Frank Herbert's support.

  • Long live the fighters!

  • ..interesting how this version of the trailer is missing the music track. Is that Peter Cullen's voice? I actually lifted the narration to use in my film "SpaceDisco One" early last year

  • damn who is that sexy ass girl talking at the beginning>?

  • The sexy ass belongs to Virginia Madsen. I guess she's a lil bit older now. ;)

  • I like Chani actress more :P

  • @Deathdealeus1984 year but she looks hot even today

  • @Deathdealeus1984

But she is still sexy as hell.

  • @Deathdealeus1984 Another 5'11" blonde who should've gotten the lead in the movie.

  • @chiefmojorising1

    virginia madsen

  • I love this movie... its my fav. I hate the Sci FI version of it... uh... but tango for this trailer:D

  • Kyle MacLachlan was in Showgirls. LOL

  • HAhaha really? ;-D

  • lol Polygon monster @ 00:55

  • WAS EVERETT MCGILL IN THIS MOVIE

  • Yes.

  • what is the connection between dune and tranfsformers? why is omptimus prime saying this? i have read one of the books, but i didnt understand the shit of it :P

  • @basman777 - maybe they use orange spice to travel between galaxies & other large distances

  • Great trailer. I think it's Peter Cullen who did the voice of Optimus Prime's narrating the trailer.

  • yeah i remember hearing his voice during the previews of movies when i was like in 1st or 2nd grade and it was totally thrilling.

  • @Ghouliesguy I'm almost positive it's the late voiceover master Don LaFontaine, who according to wiki, did over 5,000 movie trailers.

  • lol sting. Book was awesome

  • thanks for uploading this trailer, yeah that was the first "Dune" part ever shown, in 1984 it was the freakyest experience people could get. This movie take 3 hours, but the "Newest" 3 Dune parts take longer and are not as well as the old one.

  • I've never heard of this movie. It looks good.
