Cherry, the bottles were Golden Liquid Acrylics. The Brilliance ink is a permanent type of stamping ink.

On a semi-serious note - I adore the work you're doing on the art journal (all your work, actually) - I think I'll try a board book for my next one instead of altering another old book.

Using a board book is great fun, and there isn't the warping problem that you have with some art journals. Recently I learned that you can glue many pages together in a regular journal to get more thickness...it's just a bit more work. Being a lazy piker......well......I take the easy way out.

Lori, like anything...portrait painting and drawing takes lots of practice. I've only done 3 or 4 portraits so far and none of them were good....barely recognizable. It's an area I want to focus on more in the future.

But in the meantime! Journaling is fun!! I've painted over mag pics and photographs for several years now and you can get some really interesting images this way.

Cool! I like whatever that light ink was that you used over the paint to stamp with. I concur .... painting and drawing into magazine pics is a great exercise .... and my all time favorite magazine is Vogue! The photographers in there are truly artists so their pics are like individual pieces of art full of wonderful shapes and abstraction with light, color and the most amazing compositions! Check out tatoo and skater mags too:)
