bandwith is the amount of energy used to display information. It holds and displays data to your computer via the internet. In astralia u hav a cap on how much bandwith you can use. For example a picture on a website displayed on your computer may take up around 1mb of bandwith.

Bandwith is your downloads. As in your internet plan you signed up with may only be 100 gigs per month, and if you go over that by downloading music movies etc, your internet provider will shut your internet off, charge you more or slow down your connection speed

Hahaha! I almost shot myself when you said 'stupid Americans'. I wish I was American!

Basically Australians have this stupid way of dishing out internet. We only get a certain amount of gigabytes a month which we have to pay for. We call the gigabytes our 'bandwidth'. So if we go over our restriction of gigabytes that we can download from the internet we have to pay more. To waste bandwidth is to use the gigabytes, really. It's pretty confusing, but I hope I helped!

here's another way to look at it. it's like text messages on your cell phone. you paid 10$ for 200 text mssg per month. if you go over it, they charge you extra. comcast here in the states used that tactic too. i think 250gb per month.
