Nice Video, would like the sound a bit clearer (OK I'm nit picking). Am I right in thinking the RCL's had the 150BHP engines, with a higher ratio back axle to give better top speed, but all had the pre-selector box with fluid flywheel.
Young kev needs to think about having a little more respect for the vehicle, after all, its over 40 years old with God Knows how many hundred thoudand miles under its wheels, and needs driving in a sympathetic manner.
@alec1948 Hi Alec, thanks for comments, to get a clearer sound recording I'd have to put the recorder in the cab, I'll try to remember next time we're out in her.
Yes you're right, the RCL had a 150 BHP engine, known as the AV690 as opposed to the AV590 fitted to the standard RMs, and an intermediate diff (4.7) also with air bags fitted for the rear suspension to give a much smoother ride at speed. Ours still has the airbags, we recently fitted an AV690 and she still has the intermediate diff
Superb driving. Even more interesting is the fact that Tring hasn`t changed since I was at Tring Garage until it closed in `77. I haven`t been through since then i don`t think. I see the old cinema and TG have all gone now. Brought back many memories of the RML`s, RT`s, RF`s and our sole MB, as well as nightmare`s about the crap National LN`s we had. Many thanks for posting.
the Hand brake Cable seems to be wel adjusted gear change abit slow though its automatic u can change gear full throttle and use first gear to pull away its so much faster and let it rev abit then wack it into second then third

I always did like the sound of the AEC engine.

@kevthejoker
You sound like the kind of driver who cares little for his passenger's comfort...
RMC/RCL variants do not have automatic.
