The word "marriage" came from the French word "marier" which means to join and a French suffix "-age" which means a state of being or condition, when combined, "marriage" means any joining with permanence--such as marrying/joining together two people or two boards of wood.

Whenever I hear these guys talk about "just wars" it reminds me of the Albigensian crusade against the Cathars and the massacre at Belziers I recently read.

In 1209 the papal legate Arnaud-Amaury, Abbot of Citeaux held a siege in Belziers in the South of France to put down the Cathars.

The town under seige also held many Catholics. The beseiged Cathars granted them leave if they wished but the Catholic inhabitants chose to stay.

When the siege was lifted the massacre began.

Arnauld Armaury ordered the death of all the inhabitants. When asked how they would be able to tell the difference between Cathars and Catholics he was quoted as saying "Kill them all, God will know is own".

The Church still hasn't changed. In all "just wars", the death of innocents is a certainty. For Dolan, acting as a representative of the Church, to aprove of "just wars" and capital punishment brings back that mideavel mentality.

My opinion as to what justified warfare is?

I can give you examples: Poland in 1939, Belgium, Holland in 1940, Russia in 1941. I could give you more, but it's based on the same principle. If your nation is invaded without premeditation, then fighting off the invader is justified.

Poland was invaded under obvious trumped up charges, Belgium and Holland had declared neutrality and Russian had a non-aggression treaty with Germany.

The Holy Mother Church is spot free, however the officials who have run it are not. It is not the teaching of The Church to hate gays, however it is the teaching that gay marriage is MORALLY WRONG (which can be found in the Bible.) Also the church is morally against war and capital punishment you can find that anywhere. I never have and never will persecute OUR gay brothers and sisters. I love them just as I love any other human being. The Catholic Church preaches love and just because it says what the bible says is wrong you call that persecution? Persecution would be more like what you do to Catholics by calling us idiots, liers, sinners, and hateful people. Also how did i misquote scripture? Thats exactly what it says. Any priest you ask will probably have councelled multiple gay people away from their false beliefs. Most of the time it is routed in an emotional problem from a bad relationship with their father. I have multiple friends who are that way but try to help them.
