actually i loved the concert and i was jealous of all the amazing musicians to be honest haha...and we had the chance to witness some legends perform amazing music

  • Hello sir i am looking for an amp with THICKER HAIR :P

I'll stick with the legacy 1,cause if theres a two and its VAI.....

    ROCK ON DUDE

  • How do you not get excited when you meet steve vai??????

  • steve vai is cool just getting into him im an avid paul gilbert john petruci fan but vai got some unique stuff that i like

  • Steve Vai always has something new to say in every interview he's in, even if it's based on the same topic as the last.

  • where the wild thing are is amazing and that gorgious violin player omg. vai awsome new band and get your arse DOWN UNDER.

  • Bow Down!

  • @Megadethmegadethfan1 may be a better guitarist but, he can out spell you any day!!

  • Steve is the man.. Looks like a nice guy in person

  • I dig the way he describes things - "still has a little hair" and " serves the melody.....on a little silver platter". Texture of the sound.... easy to get a good feel for what he's talking about.

  • I think i am a better guitarist then stevie vai and i have ben playing for a yeer and a haf.

  • @Megadethmegadethfan1 MEGALOLS.

  • @Megadethmegadethfan1 How you found anyone who shares this opinion?

  • 0:47 "enough of the vaiii shit!"

    LOL he's epic

  • @fantagevideos "They may feel like that anyway." That was hilarious :-)

  • steve seems like an awesome guy.. i would love to meet him

  • @bretzy1991 I had the privledge of meeting him and Joe Satriani about 7 years ago before a G3 show. I play a Jem77FP which I got him to sign. The meeting lasted about 3 minutes, but Steve and Satriani both seemed pretty cool. :-)

  • Worlds best clean sound comes from vintage Fender Twin Reverb. And that is what mister Vai uses also.

  • lots of people also love the roland jc-120 for clean tones. possibly one of the best SS amps out there.

  • smart man...

  • Steve is almost 50 and take a look at him! daaamn I should really turn to vegetarian to live more and healhtier... and play guitar more of course

  • How many times did he says 'You know'?

  • 14, The last time he said "you know" was in 2:58 :D jaja i hope to be helpfull hahahahahahhaa

  • vai is a master at rhetoric

  • Steve,I need a favor,contact me soon,thanks shecky308!!!!12-05-09

  • Do you really think that Steve's gonna watch this video and see your comment? And most important, do you think that he's gonna contact you?

    FUCK

  • Mind your own buisiness and your own ass and never reply on my messages again.

  • Jeez... Did someone forget to consume his morning milk today?

  • Oh, never ever? I'm gonna cry

  • You are Steve Vai.

  • crazier things have happened... o wait, no i take that back. It is more likely that the moon will blow up and reveal that it's core is made entirely of cheese

  • Oh! I get it now. 666

  • maybe that's why he's so beastly

    :)

he does say " I " alot though. but he's earned the right to be a little self-assured

  • steve was born 06.06.1960 , so his 6th birthday was he 06.06.1966, no kidding^^

  • it's true, i rad it in his VAIography

  • yeah he says that in the lick library interview

  • he was also the devil's guitar player in crossroads lol

  • he needs to be in more movies, i would lol heartily.

  • he was born 6th june 66 he said it in a different interview

  • "Enough of this vai shit"

    AHAHAHAHA, funny guy too XD

  • the thing is that steve often talks about being 6 in 66, thats probly where the confusion comes, with birthdate

  • Vai was born june 6, 1960 not july 6

  • 666 you say? lol!

  • correction: 6 june :)

  • How old is he???

  • 49 years old

  • " ENOUGH OF THAT VAAAAAI SHEEET" ahahahahaha

  • Vai real man! All real musicians respect his opinion, and not only because he master of guitar.

  • Vai can not only play with incredible virtuosity, but he has an amazing knack for composing. He is a true musician.

  • All these fags are getting earrings and wearing stupid stocking caps. I wouldn't dare play an axe with flowers or vines on the fret board so I have no desire to play SV's shit anyway--yeah, he's a nice guy, but who cares unless he is your neighbor--being a nice guy won't make me go out and buy his shit anyway.

  • true, but he does have good shit

  • Pfft I dont care what he or his guitars look like he plays amazingly and he has awesome originality I love his stuff!

  • He seems fairly modest. He isn't a cocky jerk like Mulmsteen. Vai to me is WAY better anyways. Vai can shred and so much more.

  • Malmsteen is sour of a jerk, he plays well but he always shows it to you, i prefer Joe Satrinai and Steve Vai, they are the best!

Plus: If you see both of them, Satriani and Vai, Vai Looks older than Satriani, Even after they have about 15 years of difference, hehe!

  • ye Vai looks a bit older then 48 years old, but Satch is only 4 years older not 15.

  • actually 10... i think .

    1956 satch 1966 vai no?

  • nah Steve Vai was born 6 july, 1960 :)

  • yeah I never would have guessed that Satch was 52...

  • Vai seems like a nice guy. He is the amp/guitar doctor.

  • "It's a bit of a warmer bed"

  • 0:51 "They might feel like that anyway" hahahah

  • hahahaha steve dyed his hair!

  • he said shit

  • Sympathic man with a great sense of humour.

Beside of that, a one of a kind guitar player.

  • Enough with that Vai shit! xD

    Love you Steve!

  • 3:24-3:31 HAHAHAHA!

  • Hah sounds like Spinal Tap ...

  • oh my god! i had exactly the same thought...it's good to know that sb else is thinking in the same way, proves i am not completely crazy!! haha

  • "enough with this vai shit..."

    epic :D

  • 0:49 ... EPIC!

  • the man...period

  • i know its gonna sound crazy but he reminds me on gaius baltar from battlestar galactica xDDD

  • Vai always comes accross as a nice guy.

  • Now everybody go out and buy a Carvin Lagacy II amp!

  • i reakon steve vai is gonna be bald one day pretty soon end up lookin like satch!

  • i believe that vai will never be bold...cause after all the things he has done to his hair during his shows he should be bold by now..so he must allready use something to prevent his hair to fall :P :)

  • What are you talking about?

  • i mean that he wont let his hair fall and be bold because he cares a little bit too much about his image..:P

  • You mean Bald?

  • yeah i am sorry:P my english are not so good...:P i am from greece...

  • hahaha no worries...

And Greece is a pretty nice country if you ask me..

    ive been there

  • where are you from? i like greece as a country but not the people living here...most of them are cruel and i dont get it why...:(

  • Well otherwise, i am from Sweden...Beautiful country...

Well when i was there, the people were pretty nice to me....i was in Kos..

  • I am from Greece and i live in Sweden!haha! what a nice coincidence!

  • yeah, that is a nice coinsidence... or how it spells...

  • He was once the "head-cuttin' white boy in an all black church in the South. I saw him fall down trying to play a high note..

  • the movie Crossroads?

  • nope, real life.

the karate kid was there, i also believe there was a harmonica involved

  • hahahahahahahaha yes real life :P come on man it was a movie...karate kid cant play the guitar vai is the one playing his parts... real life..hahaha

  • I wish someone would post some clips of this amp in action.

I wish Vai would have done it at NAMM

  • steve is finally starting to look like an old Italian Guido.

  • Is steve vai well educated, like in general?

  • He graduated from Berklee College of Music...

  • ya, I forgot about that...

  • Dude, Vai actually dropped out of berklee to join frank zappa on tour... at least thats what I heard.

Either way, he does come across as a very well educated guy. Maybe he doesnt have school somats, but he does have intelligence.

  • no he did not drop off college, he did graduate...

  • doesnt he have phd in music or something?

  • Don't think so, although he studying at Berklee for a little while.

  • He has a doctorate in music

  • Ahh, my mistake. According to Wikipedia, he DID graduate from Berklee, but we all know how that website is sometimes...

  • As far as I know, he did his undergraduate music education in Berklee. And after his success in the music business, Berklee gave him an honorary doctorate degree.

  • If you've read anything written by him, or heard any of his interviews you will realize he is a bright cookie. ^^

  • Yeh.....if only I had the money to buy it!

  • It's a shame all guitar heroes end up as marketing guys even endorsing now cables and mediators... gee..

To be fare I guess they have to make a living,

But I think its more about resisting the big amounts of money they are given for marketing those brands..

..i thinks its a pitty for the kids who think they gonna have to spend 7000dollars to have a credible sound!

Well I suppose if Iba,Fend,Gib,etc was me a giving a chance to have a cool guitare made for me that would be really cool..

  • I have his Carvin amp in a half stack, one of the older ones though.. it sounds so good..

It's really versatile, and the clean is incredible for being such a heavy amp when the gain is up there..

  • Would you recommend it for playing stuff like Satch, Petrucci and old Vai tunes?

  • For sure!

It's a great amp, I like it WAY better than any Marshall or other brand. You can get an amazing metal, normal type hard rock, classic rock, and the clean is absolutely incredible! It sounds like you switch between two completely different amps when going between dirty and clean. The price I payed for mu halfstack was only about 1500 too directly from Carvin!

Great deal considering the quality AND how much more say, a Marshall HEAD alone is.

If you have the money, For sure!

  • Hahahaha, i'm going to buy that amp.. rofl. No thanks.

  • probably the most boring itw on youtube so far....

  • that interviewer dude host guy is lucky!! he gets to meet steve vai!!!

  • seems like he got some gray hair ^^

  • well at 48 it's about time haha

  • yeah maybe XD

  • I am Steve Vai's illegitimate love child.

  • he seems like the kinda guy u could just have an intelligent conversation with. he seems very cool. i bet the amps are fucking expensive tho.

  • Not at all,his legacy is 699,Mesa trple recto 1600,Carvin has about the best priced stuff out there.

  • they are actually suprisingly low priced amps

  • i could never get sick of vai :)

  • vai knows his stuff, he knows all aspects of music, from guitars and amps to the little black dots, legend

  • has he had botox oor something looks like he has lol

  • most guitar players are instrumental musicians...

  • of course, but I think he meant he plays mainly instrumental songs (no singer)

  • i went to a Vai concert over the summer. it was the loudest fucking concert i have ever been too. it was AWESOME

  • sweet dude! ive always wanted to go to a vai concert

  • yah i met Steve back in the early 90's an dhe i sa laid back , down to earth guy.he will take the time to talk to you..good personality

  • hes great

he really know thigns about sounds..

hes not another dumb metalhead he really knows what he is doing

  • Under all that processing, it doesn't matter what amp he uses.

First time I ever seen him without his fan for his hair blowing and posing!

  • Vai's funny. He doesn't like the sound of metal amps? His tone is sometimes abrasive when he hits that wah pedal:) I love his tone on Sound Theories- nice & warm. I think Satriani had the best tone on the "Flying in a Blue Dream" album.

  • Watch and hear my Legacy with a Jemini Pedal totally cool no other amp needed except more of them stacked.

  • "enough of that vai shit" lmao! legend

  • Guitar God

  • damn,Vai is geting older...He seems more aged than Satch..

  • Im a big Vai fan, and I agree that his stuff is one of the best instrument gear a man can buy. And his playing is beyond excellent. And he never talks bullshit. But..To me, this new legacy amp sounds like just an amp with clean./overdrive/lead channels. But at least the legacy 1 becomes a bit cheaper now.

  • a quote from steev "my music is complicated, but the tools i use are not" so yeh, the amp might sound like that because thats how he wants it to sound

  • Nice nervous interviewer :)

  • Hey, who WOULDN'T be nervous interviewing Vai?

  • He sounds like he's lying. He wanted to say "yeah, my Bogner is freaking awesome" ^_^

  • hahaha nice one :D
