you are right that he is the first living marine to recieve the medal of honor...but he is not the first marine since the begining of the iraq/afghanistan war....as you said....have you not heard of Cpl. Jason Dunham.....he was a marine who recieved the medal of honor after covering a grenade with his helmet...while in IRAQ!!!

Dakota is right. and he's got more moral integrity than most. The Defense Dept. should not approve the sale of BAE thermal imaging scopes to the Paki's. They might as well approve the sale directly to all Islamist Terrorist groups because that's where they will end up. Pakistan is manipulating everyone because they are strategically located. he deserved the medal of honor, but better than that would have been to give those men the air cover they requested so they didn't die. i hate how we send these brave kids into battle but then politics get in the way of the ROE and we don't back them up. This absolutely breaks my heart. i am sending this man a thousand hugs. i feel very small compared to him.

An American Warrior!!! The Best!!! Daktoa Made it happen. Each and every Marine is above and beyond!! It is about TIME a Marine is awarded the Medal of Honor. There are numerous other that deserve this award as well!! As a Retired Air Force Officer, I hope and pray each warrior that garners this award will receive them as soon as possible. This is well past due for Dakota and the Marines.
