  • I used this method for cutting the vinyl tile in my bathroom this weekend. This saved me so much time. Thank you for making this video. This method is brilliant!

  • @BeugsTheLegend Glad the video helped!

  • Thank you for taking the time to make this video! I appreciate your help!

  • @liangler22 Your welcome and good luck with your floors!

  • Carpet knife on VCT? Scab move

  • looks like another carpet banger trying to install hard surface

  • you are using wrong knife again bro' you have only one carpet knife for all types of flooring ?

  • I would have to argue with the guys suggesting using a utility knife. A carpet knife such as he is using is fine. The angle of the cutting blade when scoring the tile glides better along the straight edge of the other tile. Not only that, the blade last's longer.

One way to speed things up though. When doing a long straight wall, such as this. It's much faster to line up all the tiles along that row, then just go down the wall with your cutting tile. (your knife blade wont touch the floor)

  • @jasmasmasm Thank you for saying that , I use a carpet knife because I am so used to it and it feels very natural in my hand. You are also right that you can line up a whole row at one time.

  • Bro I have watched your carpet installation videos and I will say that you are not a VCT mechanic. YOU DON'T USE A FORK FOR SOUP. so you don't use a double edge blade for VCT.

  • @chiludo20 why not ?

  • @chiludo20 Hey, Know It All! Please provide a link to your installation video so we can learn to do it perfectly!!

  • awsome tecnique dude, gonna install some today :0)

  • you got molding going up, turn it upside down and stay close to the field line...

  • Your using a carpet knife on VCT? very dangerous. Use a utility knife and never cut on the newly installed floor.

  • Enjoyed the video.

    The flooring looks nice.

Don’t suggest making cuts on top of the new tile. I know, everyone has to be a critic.

  • Thanks - great video and really smart shortcut to cut the tiles exactly! 5 stars! I also liked how you showed it again - for me and my mom to watch! Great! I'll be following your tips first thing in the a.m.

  • funny that your glue line along the wall looks like shit! im so green and i know this fool!

  • I installed VCT in Military barracks before, tons of metal doorjambs that can't be undercut we werent allowed to use torches so we used heat guns!

  • Sure...I wanna see a commercial door jamb cut, with a double return! Break out the torch...

  • This works fine, just make sure your VCT isn't cold or it will not break on the line you scribe most of the time.
