I needed it to obtain a Texas driver license, a replacement social security card and a US passport. A hospital birth certificate is NOT proof of US citizenship (per the US State Department). Just like you and I, the President's private records are kept confidential by law and we do not have to "spend millions" to keep them private. What part of proof can you not accept?

I needed it to obtain a Texas driver license, a replacement social security card and a US passport. A hospital birth certificate is NOT proof of US citizenship (per the US State Department). Just like you and I, the President's private records are kept confidential by law and we do not have to "spend millions" to keep them private. What part of proof can you not accept?

All of the people making aggressive comments below. Take it easy. The man is asking for a piece of paper. That's it. He's not asking Obama to step down. If you follow the news around 27% of Americans questions Obamas' citizenship along with him. If Obama has nothing to hide, then merely showing the birth certificate and then moving is simple and Obama should do it to allow this 27% of people to move on. Surely a request for this does not merit "death or imprisonment."

Not to mention that same article quoting 27% also listed the multiple pieces of information and the personal confirmation from a Republican governor that he was born in the U.S.

I my opinion this LTC is a disgrace to the uniform. His actions and conduct disgust me. As a serving Army officer with 20 years of commissioned service I hope he finishes his career as an E-1 in Leavenworth. He is grandstanding to avoid serving a second tour in Afghanistan. He and his Effing lawyer are making a mockery of our judicial system and are an insult to those who have served and died for their country. Anyone else would be called a coward.

The fact is Obama has spent close to $2 million in legal fees to prevent his records from being released. He is also using a Connecticut-issued Social Security Number that no one can explain, especially in light of the fact that it was issued in 1976 while he was attending high school in Honolulu and is associated with another individual who was born in 1890.

This guy is clearly doing this because he does not want to lose his life in a 2nd tour in Afghanistan, where the Taliban are much stronger than when he was deployed. His fear is completely understandable. The problem with this story is who is paying for his Legal Fees to sue the government, and their role in all this. This man Terry Lakin is being paid by a right wing organization to dispute Obama's birth certificate, and for that he is Un-American.
