He only refers to the New Testament which has 27 books in both cases. i watched a movie about king james. they already had several bibles. they put them all togehter and decided together which books to put in. however the ORIGINAL bible had ALL THE books in them. the other bibles the religiouns decided what to put in. the ORIGINAL bible was HUGE. bc it did not omit any books. alot of them were quite alike and some were taken out for that reason. however, some were taken out bc the catholic church did not want people to know about some things that went on the truth

Furthermore, Paul's Epistles are part of the canon of scripture, they are theopneustos which means 'God breathed'. In the second century, the Epistle of Barnabas, Clement of Alexandria, and Tertullian all referred to the Book of Enoch as scripture. Let me say one more thing regarding one thing Mr. Friel said about other Apocryphal works such as the ones Catholics read and consider Deuterocanonical (Tobit, Judith, 1 and 2 Maccabees).
Martin Luther, a raging antisemite btw, decided that the apocryphal works should not be included in the Bible because they were not written in Hebrew but Greek he could not find a manuscript of them in Hebrew,only greek ones (albeit the fact that the NT is written in Greek). However, today we have discovered manuscripts of most of these works IN HEBREW, therefore Martin Luther messed up and they should be at least used for general instruction.

Perhaps Mr. Friel should consider reading for instance Jude 1:14-15, or 1 Peter 3:19-20. EVERY single one of the various writers who complied, wrote, and edited the New Testament knew about Enoch either by reading it personally or hearing the stories through word of mouth, just look at those verses for starters.
The great apostle Paul, easily the most influential person in the history of early Christianity next to Jesus even refers to the book of Enoch in 1 Corinthians 11:5-16
The famous passage about Paul requiring women to wear headscarves is in response to things that happened in the book of Enoch. Paul says, For this reason a women ought to have a symbol of authority on her head, because of the angels (1 Cor 11:10 NRSV). Paul was apparently concerned that once again as described in Enoch 7 and what do you know! Even Genesis 6:1-4!
Many of the early church fathers (men who knew much more about Jesus original followers than we can ever hope to know) considered this book to be sacred scripture such as Tertullian, Ireneaus, and Clement of Alexandria to name a few. Tertullian even said that the Jews had rejected it because the book of Enoch contained too many prophecies predicting Jesus!
In fact everyone who wishes to truly understand the New Testament should read Enoch cover to cover asking God for wisdom. Cant you trust your faith and God enough to be able to check out a seemingly heretical book and come out unscathed or even more enlightened?

I was issued a bible while in marine corps boot camp that had all of the lost books in it(enoch,jasher,jubilee,ect.)I had never heard of any of these books at that time and didnt know what they were.Now that I know I think that is interesting.I wish I still had it.

Enoch writings are the most referenced writings in the bible yet The book of enoch and the book of secrets of Enoch were not part of either the Jewish or Christian canon. And by "reference" I'm refering to more then just the verses that mention Enoch by name or are given credence for quoting Enoch writings (Jude for example).
In the ASV bible, for example, Jesus and the apostles use the term "elect" often while it is not used in the OT. Enoch, however, uses the term "elect" approx 14 times.
The Pharisees and Sadducees came into being after the return from Babylon. Their form of bible was canonized after the death of Christ and was done, in part, to create a written work that would show as little credence as possible to Jesus being the son of God. They also wanted to refute Christs explanation of hell. This meant they had to keep out the books of Enoch.
There can be little doubt that Enoch is divinely inspired once you look at the facts.
Just because these so called "church leaders" never excepted certain ancient writings doesn't mean that these writings weren't inspired. You are letting these "authorities" determine for you what is and isn't from God. If you have never studied the Apocrypha or the Book of Enoch yourself with an open mind then how do you know for sure that they are not authentic. You are putting to much trust in these so called "scholars." Satan can appear to be an angel of light.
The bible was put together by men who new their schripture as a profession. They put the books which matched from the old testiment to the new. Anything that contridicted was kept out and considered false doctrine. The Bible is the inspired Word of God and is the history of our earth, who our God is, and what our purpose is and how to acheive that purpose. Other books outside would change the way God inteneded it to be.

It's funny that all these bible believers are quick to dismiss the book of Enoch as "satanic" but, if you take the time to actually study it, you will clearly see why they are so vehement that believers don't read it. The apostle Jude quoted from it, and the early church fathers including Justin Martyr and Irenaeus considered it divinely inspired. The book tells of gross incompetence and clearly shows that"god" and his immortals created us to simply be slaves for them. It contradicts doctrine.

To explain some important information people seemingly don't notice, most of the scrolls that were written before the Bible became ordered in the Nicaean Council contradicted each other.. ALOT. For example, in The Book of Enoch the giants were cannibalistic and evil but in Genesis 6:4 they were considered heroes.

@WoRLDGoNeiNSainE In terms of their lineage, I would say that it isn't of much importance for the Giants' ancestry to be noted because the Bible makes not of important lineages, such as the case with David to Jesus. Also, the actual term for Giants (nephilim) means "to fall," probably implying that they were either pagan or just didn't uphold religion all too well.

The cultural implications of that time (as far as we can guess) would indicate that to be "spoken of by name" means that you had done something to be praised for. Basically, the Giants weren't all that bad, wild for sure, but probably not evil.

While it’s true that the book of Enoch was never in the Bible (Catholic or Protestant), the host leads us to believe that there were no texts removed at all. He only refers to the New Testament which has 27 books in both cases. In fact, Protestant reformationists removed 7 books from the Catholic Bible which has 46 books in the Old testament as opposed to 39 in the Protestant Bible.

This is absolute B.S., The book of Enoch was in the Dead Sea Scrolls. It was commonly read by the people prior to Christ coming on the scene. The Bible itself was composed of various scrolls the were floating around and it was at the Council of Nicaea in 325A.D. that made the decision, as to which scrolls would be in or left out. Many other book have been left out as well,because they felt they weren't inspired or could it be because there is knowledge they did not want us to have.

i watched a movie about king james. they already had several bibles. they put them all togehter and decided together which books to put in. however the ORIGINAL bible had ALL THE books in them. the other bibles the religiouns decided what to put in. the ORIGINAL bible was HUGE. bc it did not omit any books. alot of them were quite alike and some were taken out for that reason. however, some were taken out bc the catholic church did not want people to know about some things that went on the truth

The Dead Sea Scrolls prove the existence of the Book. The best known copy was found in Ethiopia by accident. Jesus and others quote from the Book. What I have told you is correct. Merely being quoted by an Apostle doesn't mean your book should now be part of the canon of scripture. Furthermore, Paul's Epistles are part of the canon of scripture, they are theopneustos which means 'God breathed'. In the second century, the Epistle of Barnabas, Clement of Alexandria, and Tertullian all referred to the Book of Enoch as scripture. Origen and Anatolius treated it much the same in the third century. Well so much for the early church not considering the Book of Enoch to be scripture.

The fact is that there was no "bible" with 27 books until the "church" put it together. Jesus didn't read from a 27 book bible, that is NOT the way it always was.
The question may not have been a "loaded" one, the host does the typical Christian thing and harshly trampled on a perfectly good -although not perfectly constructed- question. The real question is why were some of those books not included? and what about the books that were mentioned by prophets in the Bible, yet do not found?

probably because the book goes into detail about things like Black holes in the Universe. and the early church didn't know what was beyond the sky so it didn't matter to withhold these book from being included but I think christianity would have been very different nowadays given that the book of enoch can describe things that scientist are only discovering in the last decade it would have been rid of just about all the ridicule of the accepted books because it's so bang on with everything else

I enjoyed reading The Lost Books of The Bible...Especially the things that Jesus taught in the Temple when He was 12 and the account of two sons of a priest that were resurrected when Christ was crucified...The Bible leaves us hanging on such stories..nothing wrong with searching ancient manuscripts....Just pray the Lord reveals Truth and enjoy reading them...Seek, and you SHALL find..God Bless!

Martin Luther, a raging antisemite btw, decided that the apocryphal works should not be included in the Bible because they were not written in Hebrew but Greek he could not find a manuscript of them in Hebrew,only greek ones (albeit the fact that the NT is written in Greek). However, today we have discovered manuscripts of most of these works IN HEBREW, therefore Martin Luther messed up and they should be at least used for general instruction.

Perhaps Mr. Friel should consider reading for instance Jude 1:14-15, or 1 Peter 3:19-20. EVERY single one of the various writers who complied, wrote, and edited the New Testament knew about Enoch either by reading it personally or hearing the stories through word of mouth, just look at those verses for starters.
The great apostle Paul, easily the most influential person in the history of early Christianity next to Jesus even refers to the book of Enoch in 1 Corinthians 11:5-16

The famous passage about Paul requiring women to wear headscarves is in response to things that happened in the book of Enoch. Paul says, For this reason a women ought to have a symbol of authority on her head, because of the angels (1 Cor 11:10 NRSV). Paul was apparently concerned that once again as described in Enoch 7 and what do you know! Even Genesis 6:1-4!

Many of the early church fathers (men who knew much more about Jesus original followers than we can ever hope to know) considered this book to be sacred scripture such as Tertullian, Ireneaus, and Clement of Alexandria to name a few. Tertullian even said that the Jews had rejected it because the book of Enoch contained too many prophecies predicting Jesus!

I was issued a bible while in marine corps boot camp that had all of the lost books in it(enoch,jasher,jubilee,ect.)I had never heard of any of these books at that time and didnt know what they were.Now that I know I think that is interesting.I wish I still had it.

Enoch writings are the most referenced writings in the bible yet The book of enoch and the book of secrets of Enoch were not part of either the Jewish or Christian canon. And by "reference" I'm refering to more then just the verses that mention Enoch by name or are given credence for quoting Enoch writings (Jude for example).
In the ASV bible, for example, Jesus and the apostles use the term "elect" often while it is not used in the OT. Enoch, however, uses the term "elect" approx 14 times.

The Pharisees and Sadducees came into being after the return from Babylon. Their form of bible was canonized after the death of Christ and was done, in part, to create a written work that would show as little credence as possible to Jesus being the son of God. They also wanted to refute Christs explanation of hell. This meant they had to keep out the books of Enoch.
There can be little doubt that Enoch is divinely inspired once you look at the facts.

Just because these so called "church leaders" never excepted certain ancient writings doesn't mean that these writings weren't inspired. You are letting these "authorities" determine for you what is and isn't from God. If you have never studied the Apocrypha or the Book of Enoch yourself with an open mind then how do you know for sure that they are not authentic. The bible was put together by men who new their schripture as a profession. They put the books which matched from the old testiment to the new. Anything that contridicted was kept out and considered false doctrine. The Bible is the inspired Word of God and is the history of our earth, who our God is, and what our purpose is and how to acheive that purpose. Other books outside would change the way God inteneded it to be.
