Winter tyres give you STOPPING TRACTION nothing more.

In an AWD car, it doesn't matter whether you have summer or winter tyres when talking about the ability to pull away, maneuver or corner. I'm talking NORMAL winter tyres, studded make a vast difference, but only ON ICE, not snow/slush.
