The TV commercial footage dates from the mid to late-1970s. Hogan was well into his 60s by then. His swing was still great but he declined to compete on the senior tour. Some said it was because he couldn't walk the 18 comfortably any more.
@TheHawkwatch I agree, if only his putting didn't let him down in his older age. I'm sure if he could putt, he would of won more tourneys with that swing even in his 50's or 60's.
Thanks for posting this!! It's nice to see Hogan swing in a nice clear video for once, there are so many "fuzzy" videos of Hogan on You Tube. THANKS AGAIN!!
By the way, is there really ANY way you can miss a shot when you set the club like he does on the way back? It's like watching a great archer draw a bow.
The "sheet of glass" concept was a mental aid rather than a biomechanically accurate model, but it put people in the right frame of mind. Point is, he centralized the idea of plane more than anybody up to that point, and several generations of pros since then have saved their own games because of it--Nicklaus in '80, Faldo, Price, Norman with Harmon, O'Meara (who was a mess before he started working with Haney on the plane concept), and others.
Thanks for posting! How did you find this, and in such great clarity?

I would trade my swing for that 60yr old Hogan swing...and probably still kick butt on the PGA tour.

He looked so cool and classy...Those guys in the day didn't have to look like Nascar cars with logos and corporate garbage all over their clothes.

Even in his 60s, he could swing the club with such athleticism and phenomenal fundamentals.
