the "G2" as the g1's replacement has already been released but it is not formally called G2 it shares the same features but as a second Gen with new speeds and better conection it provides a bit more with a bit less( the slideout keyboard is removed) and the real name of the new google phone is actually called the my fav yes i know kinda odd but it is what it is not bad i had a choice over the G1 and the my fav, so i choose the G1 still im fine with the original and its pretty awesome actually.

Ok now I will clear things up. The myTouch 3G iss the the same thing as the HTC Magic just like how the G1 is the same at the HTC Dream. (T-Mobile brand names) The HTC hero is supposedly going to be T-Mobile UK's G2 Touch. No plans of coming to T-Mobile US. So as of now there is no G2.

My Touch is not the G2. I spoke to a T-mobile rep and he says its 2 different phones. My touch is the second android based phone for T-mobile and it will realease on July 8th. It is unkown when the G2 will release but most likely towards end of 2009
