I've heard this several times. Upon each hearing, I have come away believing that Tibbett was the Wotan for his century, if not the ages. Rich, round tone, wonderful technique encompassing mezza di voce, condident declaration of the text - doesn't get much better---

Huge performance. Too bad Tibbett didn't have the advantage of the improved recording technologies used by George London's epoch

After listeing to part one of this, I was excited to see how this would be. WEll, it is thrilling from the first notes. In addition to Tibbett, Stowski --to these ears--had a beautiful touch in this music.
