@olutop1 there is no such thing as 2008 545i. The last year of 545 was 2005. I have owned a TL (nice car) and currently own a 540i 6 speed M-sport. The 540 is much quicker. The one in this video is either automatic, or not trying. 6 speed 540i does 1/4 mile in 14.0 sec. TL is around 15.0
Also, 540 is a 1997 bimmer engine vs the Acura with 2004 technology. In 2004, BMW's 4.4 V8 had increased output by another 40+hp! Acura's are nice cars though.

I have a 740i a TL 6mt Navi and a TLS 6mt. The 540i with all the low end torque is not going to loose. Yes the Tl's are quick but they don't drive like a BMW. That 4.4 BMW motor is a beast. Won't buy another BMW but this video is BS.

'04 TL was rated V6 3.2L 270HP 238TQ @ 3575lbs
'03 540i was rated V8 4.4L 290HP 324TQ @ 3803lbs
So the TL is about 200lbs lighter. The TL's strength is after 4000rpm's as its low end sucks. The 6spd also shaves off half a second from the AT. I do agree the extra displacement should of pulled on the TL in the high end unless the 540i's AT gearing sucks. or if it was MT he missed a shift
The 2008+ Accord V6's are dog slow because of the electronic cylinder management fuel saving crap. A TL is easily faster than the new accord v6's unless it's a 6spd without ECM
Idk about the Accord beating a TL.. It would have to be HEAVILY modified.. But I DO agree with you on this race seeming fishy... I can't picture loosing to a TL especially in the higher speeds...
540I curb weight is 3900 and the TL curb weight is 3500. Now there is only a 22 HP difference. 400/15 (each HP lost for weight) = 27 HP making the TL faster. Its not about the crank HP its all about the WHP. TL will win this race hands down. Reason why it lost the beginning is because the TL has terrible torque down low and it was a A/T :o

And the e39 ///M5 is STILL one of the best sports cars money can buy, and for 18k..its a fukin STEAL!! this video is acurate 100%.i have a 06 auto tl, my buddie has a 540.he got me off the start but i ended up passing him.The tl has slow pick up. its a vey heavy car actually.but speeds around 80-100 are very fun considering its a 3.2L.but anyways both of us were supprised when the 540 is a 4.0L..kind of sad actually

I love bmw they make great cars I have owned two 325is models and have driven many different bmw models. I now own a 04 Acura TL, this thing is fast I would put this car up against a e39 540 manual any day off the week.

I am also a fan of Cad CTS V you run your m5 against my cadi and see who wins! But again The Acura is a great car, Acura came a long way they say "2015 a v8 RL RWD, TL RWD and TSX RWD will be out who knows they may give bmw run for its money.

'04 TL was rated V6 3.2L 270HP 238TQ @ 3575lbs
'03 540i was rated V8 4.4L 290HP 324TQ @ 3803lbs
So the TL is about 200lbs lighter. The TL's strength is after 4000rpm's as its low end sucks. The 6spd also shaves off half a second from the AT. I do agree the extra displacement should of pulled on the TL in the high end unless the 540i's AT gearing sucks. or if it was MT he missed a shift

The 2008+ Accord V6's are dog slow because of the electronic cylinder management fuel saving crap. A TL is easily faster than the new accord v6's unless it's a 6spd without ECM

540I curb weight is 3900 and the TL curb weight is 3500. Now there is only a 22 HP difference. 400/15 (each HP lost for weight) = 27 HP making the TL faster. Its not about the crank HP its all about the WHP. TL will win this race hands down. Reason why it lost the beginning is because the TL has terrible torque down low and it was a A/T :o

First of all, the TL has 225 HP and about 216torque. The540i has 286hp and OVER 305torque. Second of all, the Automatic tranny on FWD has much more power loss then the automatic on RWD bmw. You just fail man!
