I prefer the beak this one has, to the one Fran Brill used. Jim Henson obviously knew that some small birds (like finches) have beaks that curve a little so they can crack seeds, as a great artist, he knew alot of details about animals and people.

Big Bird was meant to be young, even though he is big. His point of view could almost be like some kids. Until they are exposed to certain things, they may think of some things in only one way.

I remember growing up, it was somewhat of a surprise to find that a kid who transferred to our Kindergarten class was also named Michael like me.

I've seen the same idea in some other Sesame Street threads that just because Big Bird is 'big,' he should know more.
