In saw 5 jigsaw left Jill a box before he died. In that box was 6 envelopes (saw "6") Hoffman took the first 5 envelopes, but Jill sneeks out the 6th one and keeps it. Jigsaw left the 6th envelope for jill only. Also, in saw 4 at the end jigsaws tape says "you think you will walk away untested" to hoffman, and hoffman finally gets it test at the end of saw 6. He escapes the trap so im guessing he survived.

This is just my opinion. I think that yes, saw is going a bit overboard but they have not failed to maintain the story and until they do so, they should keep right on going. Some people think it's going to go on like nightmare on elm street or halloween and yes it is but they still have a firm grip on the story. And there is endless possabilities.

i think everyone (that i know) has been giving this movie a lot of crap mainly because there wasn't much of a twist at the end, even though they advertised that "you won't believe how it ends." other than that, though, i really liked saw v. I felt it was less of a sequel than it was the start of a new story, a real sequel with all new stuff, and this also filled just about every plot hole from the previous movies

But the storyline in this one and the fourth are both very good. I just think they should have put a bit more emphasis on the people in the trap, not the cops. It's slowly been shifting since the second one and I feel that takes away from the whole Saw feeling.
