The 3rd anniversary of Johnny's death was a few days ago. I miss him more and more as I age and remember our lives together...the fun, the laughter, the fights, the love and most of all the music. SO MUCH MUSIC in the 60's and 70's! It seemed like Johnny was bringing home sheet music almost every day to learn a new song. He was so darn special and he certainly did things "My Way" as he liked to sing. Love ya JG!
Johnny let me take over for a few songs while he re-freshened his 'glass of water.' Tomorrow 08/21/10 I'll be making my first-ever appearance in Atlantic City. The cover of my main notebook/songbook will be made up of a picture of Lafittes, and Johnnys business card. THANKS JOHNNY! Forever knowing what it means to miss New Orleans, and YOU!
I was Johnny's 2nd wife and with whom he lived the last 9 months of his life at my home in NC. Our son and I brought him home to NOLA for his funeral and burial. He'd been a part of my life since 1966 and the love of my life. Thank you so much for your very kind words. I would love to see a photo of your notebook/songbook. Every once in awhile I look around to see if anyone is still remembering Johnny and it's so comforting when I find people like you. Thank you. Deanna Reeder
