Lets finally solve the great debate what's faster roller or ice as I've played both for 15 years and I was on Tylers team (this guy)for 2 of those years in Narch. The truth is they are both faster games (huh you ask) well due to the fewer players and no offsides roller is a faster overall paced skating and stick handeling game. But ice is also faster since there are more players on the rink it requires you to pass alot faster and think alot faster. So you are both right. Hockey requires skillz.

That's totally crap dude and you know it. Anybody who has played both would say that ice is way quicker. It requires plenty more agility, vision, and coordination to be an ice hockey player. No doubt at all. I'd like to see him do that with full gear on ice. Creative deke though for sure.

I love both roller and ice. So don't get me wrong in that aspect. Ice is definitely not a faster game. A whistle every ten seconds. Offsides and icing slow it way down. Roller is quick paced back and forth and a majority of the guys including myself play both ice and roller. I in know way think roller players are better than ice or think that ice players are better than roller. I just hate ice guys that think they're the shit. I know tons of roller guys that will dangle ice guys for days.

I love both too! I have to disagree though. Ice is definitely a faster game. The puck moves quicker, skating is quicker, transitions are quicker, and there's more to worry about. With the hitting aspect involved on the ice, defenders approach you a bit differently. They can definitely turn quicker on you too. The pace/maneuverability on ice makes all the difference in the world if you are a "skill" player. I have to go with the ice on this one dude... And I'm a born dangler.

No, I wasn't aware they played full contact. That's pretty mega! Well, with regard to the pace (stoppages and whatnot), I can see your point. My only argument would be that it takes higher skill to navigate the rules...especially as a team. And if the skill is high...the pace is high. We all know that hockey is a bit more than just stickhandling. This sort of turned into a debate about the interaction between speed and pace and skill. For purity's sake, I'll take ice any day of the week.

if you watch what he does, its a one handed toe drag-on, from behind him, to opposite skate skate kick to put the goalie off and the he has an open net.

im sure a few hours practice could yeild similar results.
