  • Hope she wins the Plaid Cymru leadership.

  • Leanne is an educated lady and is highly respected. Her republican views are of her own mind and and are not representative of the people who elected her. Leighton Andrews was correct in complaining about her rudeness toward's Her Majesty The Queen. It was not clever or smart and took no "guts" to be disrespectful. Since Leanne is a candidate in Plaid Cymru's leadership contest she should bear in mind that Her Majesty has served this country for sixty years. Leader will be elected 15 March 2012

  • @richard5220 Have no fond memories of what the Queen or the family has ever done for Wales. Costs us all 53p a day to have her and I'd much rather 3 pasties from Greggs. Republican views are fine in my book. Feel the role of head of state will stay with the family after Welsh Independence. A referendum on keeping the post could be proposed if the people of Wales wanted it to. After all thats what Plaid Cymru stand for giving Wales a complete say on their money and relations with the wider world.

  • Wow. I was recently reading an article about Leanne Wood that linked to this video. That is indeed quite surprising that she had the guts to say that and not to withdraw for her beliefs. Though I disagree with other commentators here that Dafydd Elis Thomas had any other option but to eject her at that stage.

It's a long standing rule and tradition that Members of Parliament and the Assembly refer to Mrs Windsor as "Your majesty". Annoying though it may be. Support for both there ^_^

  • She should have said Mrs Saxe-Coburg-Gotha

  • The ejection of an unelected representative from the National Assembly is a disgrace.

Since when was deference towards an unelected, foreign and undemocratic head of state more important than free speech?

  • Dafydd El;is Thomas is a Sycophantic worm! Leanne came our of this far better than he did.

  • Dafydd Elis-Thomas's behaviour in this film is nothing short of shocking. Good for Leanne. Finally, an elected politician - a nationalist from the Valleys - with some principles against an unelected foreign monarch and her sycophantic Welsh 'presiding officer.' Any Plaid person thinking of voting Dafydd Elis Thomas in 2012 as their leader, do you really want to vote in a man such as this? Cofiwch Glyn Dwr a 1404.....
