There is no 3D tv. What it does it makes 200hz refresh rate, and the bad frames is filtered by the shutter glasses... THE TV IS NOT 3D, its 3D READY.. dont bs people !

Seriously, "fantasy becomes reality"? These tv's are just 120hz lcd's with shutter glasses. That type of 3D technology has been around for a long time and hasn't really progressed much, other than lcd's at 120hz. I checked out one of these recently, I've had a 3D projector setup that displays a larger view, works with pc games via iz3d drivers, and it looks about as good as the picture on these new tv's. It also cost me less than half the price of these tv's. Sad how we're not progressing really

As cool as this seems, I agree with most people when they say that there is just to much technology for the comsumer, like us, to handle. It seems that year after year there is something knew that comes out, and what you had before is just out of date. I've seen a demo last week. It works like those 3d picture cards. You can see a 3d effect without 3d glasses in a certain angle. One step sidewards and the screen becomes fuzzy. One more step and it's clear 3d again. Not really viable for consumers at the moment. If they finetune the technique until you see the 3d effect from every angle, it will make its way to the consumers.

Images can't "collide". Light will pass right through light, as it's an electromagnetic wave. And glasses work on each eye independently, so putting them in front of the TV does nothing.

The new ones work by directing each pixel rather than having each pixel just light up and emit light in all directions. When your brain picks up these rays, it finds where they "should" intersect, so you see the pixel there instead of on the screen.

But IIRC, this will not work with live film yet, only CGI.

with live film they could have a pseudo effect where it would be effective if you were directly in front of the tv, people too far to the left will only see the "Left Eye" camera and people too far to the right will only see the "Right Eye" camera. If you're sitting dead center the light the left eye should see can be transmitted out from -1 degree to - 180 degrees and the right eye will see light transmitted at 1 to 180 degrees

a 3d tv, they mean if you were to move from one side to the other side, with one of the 3d images of say,,, a stationary truck... by moveing to the other side, you will (hopefully) be able to see a new angle on the truck, and the projection on the screen would not have changed.

correct me if i'm wrong by all means, but im 90% sure this is what they mean.

If you have ever "read" a magic eye book. You will know what it's all about. Magic eye books have 3d pictures in them, but you can only see them if you cross your eyes, and it needs a bit of practice.

Anyway, with the 3d tv, it will be the same but you will have to wear polarising glasses and won't have to cross your eyes, which is a bit easier.

We have an IMAX cinema near me, where some films are in 3D!

No, its not like that, u will just be able to see depth, not interact with the screen by moving around(that requieres a holographic image, could be reality too in a not so near future), try closing one eye, and do not move youre head, u dont see any depth...

Not try looking with both eyes, u can see depth...

The diffent will be huge in live football, action movies etc, since it will feel like ur theyre and not like looking at a 2d image. ;)

that 'hologram' was an image added in using CGI. the technology they were showing was changing the camera angle of the camrea in the studio and having it synchronized with the 'added in' image, so both images are viewed from the same angle.
