  • I love this song !!

  • This is CLASSIC. the dislikers are probably not-nice-people. How can you NOT love this song/video?

  • @vh93jones Because they're a bunch of tasteless imbeciles who are not very familiarized with REAL music lol This great hit, like many others back in the phenomenal decade of the 1980s, is TOPS!!!!

  • Forgive me for not reading back through all the comments to see if this was answered, but would someone tell me what "feeling jake" means?

I've loved this song since it first came out...

  • two tone then this,,, happy singalongajumpalongadancealonga

  • This is such a perfect song!

  • bagets brought me here

  • The hat in this video is the reason I became a fashion designer. I couldn't find it anywhere and decided to make my own.

  • That little cute doggie is DEAD by now.... hahaha...:)

  • I was 12 years old in 1983 and remember this like it was yesterday. We watched MTV and saw stuff like this every day.

  • feels like old times already

  • Lindsay who?...

  • I vividly remember watching this video on the brand new invention that was "The Video Jukebox" in the pub....wrecked as usual and jumping around like a total knobhead!!!....Oh those were the days!...loved 'em

  • @morquipgirl1 Those are the kind of memories I carry around with me now.

  • one of those songs you only knew if you had MTV in 1983...

  • i love it!

we are broke as s*** but were just so incredibly happy.

  • The decade of under rated British pop music. The quality of tunes from the 80's rivalled anything we produced in the 60's.

  • All i can say is, thanks joe for posting this. Probably one of the few great songs i never owned.

  • tell me duanemusic what music out right now is really good? because besides rap music this year music sucked.

  • One hit wonders are the best!!!!

  • I miss the 80's but am so glad that everyone can experience it through all the music uploaded.... I reckon that the kids now are so unlucky not having decent music now... When I was working on radio a few years back I included alot of the 80's music on my midnight show and the people who enjoyed it was the long distance truckies going through my town and some of the ones heading home from the pubs.... Time to make a 80's cd to put in the to sing to on the way to work. Thanks for sharing this :)

  • I'm 12, and I LOVE this song, and plenty of oldies, such as the beatles, and mad world by tears for fears, 60's - 80's ftw~

  • eventhough i was only 6 when this came out i love the 80s and this song!!!!

  • can't say i ever heard this one. the beat sounds alot like style council

  • @kjah187 the intro sounds like bedsitter by softcell

  • @SuperSimonuk yeah the intro does have bedsitter ring to it. DANCING-LAUGHING, but altogether this tune sounds so much like the style council i'll go look it up and see if they have anything to do with each other.

  • Love this!! This era was when music was real and not digitalized.

  • Best feelgood song of the 80's, maybe of all time!! Music was so meaningfull and enjoyable in the 80's, now its just crap, i feel sorry for kids today, they will never know the true meaning of music!!! I " Just Got Lucky" growing up in the greatest music era of all time!! Long live the 80's!!!!!!!!

  • Don't be. The 80's had a lot of shitty music also and our generation is full aware of that.

  • @KIBA702 Our parents said the same thing about us and our music.

  • @GoinCreekin agreed but has music ever been as bad as it is today. loads of x factor rejects, manuafactured bands, multi clone rnb. music should be varied, uplifting, meaningful, thought provoking, inspiring. none of these apply to current music. glam, punk, two tone, madchester, britpop. and nothing since. A musically movement comes from people wanting to make a change and make a statement. how can they do this if they all told what to sing by simon cowell

  • @GoinCreekin Amen

  • @GoinCreekin kiba is right, since stagnation in musical world things are little different than they were before, since 80's there are not been significant improvements or changes in music.

  • @KIBA702

theres soo much great feel good music out now, dont be so closed minded...

  • I remember this song, like was yesterday,

  • God, send me Back to the 80' please I don't want to be in this time, please lord

  • Perfect!!!

  • Why is it all the best 80's songs were so under-rated? I defy anyone to explain why the likes of ABC & Haircut 100 etc had better chart success with their woeful songs than these guys! Oh, Anyone else agree with me that after 1983 80's music went downhill fast?

  • How could anyone not like this song?

  • This has EVERY quality of a fantastic pop song. A great hook, happy and upbeat and a universal theme about being in love and the sheer joy of expressing that feeling....then the chick breaks his heart and he dies of a heroine overdose, broke and alone. LOL!

  • How do I know about this song and why do I like it? Oh well. Sweet song!

  • I really like this one!!!

  • This tune didn't get too much airplay in the northeast US. I saw this video on MTV though, and I went out and bought the song.

  • Our Gang meets English pop.

  • the lead singer (Dig Wayne) looks like one of the bad guys from the movie Death Wish II (E. Lamont Johnson), haha

    BTW, love this song

  • God have mercy on the 17 people who dislike this video.

Once again, great song from October 1983 (catchy tune as well as chorus). Too bad the JoBoxers did not go on to have any more hit songs after "Just Got Lucky."

  • great song! one of my all-time favorites!

  • @slobert1970 You and me both m8. I was born the year after you.

  • Very cool song. Typifies the free spirit of 80s

  • @dnaijaman With a little bit of '60s-inspired Motown thrown in there as well.

  • @pannoni1 reminded me more of 50's doo wop then motown

  • this song is so kool!!!

  • That dog is so cute, with his sunglasses on - LOL!!

  • The opening line, "Your technique it makes me weak" for some reason, reminds me of The Rolling Stones. Something about the music in that part of the song makes me think of them. Great song! Damn, I miss the 80's!! Such great memories associated with that decade! *sigh*

  • i live in florida

  • Love this song! Heard it while shopping the other day...love stores that play great 80s music. I am a Renee but not the same Renee that DaveInNorthYork (see below) suggests go jump in a lake so I won't be taking that advice.....

  • @reneenay0311 ..great song and video renee!!..take care..dan

  • @reneenay0311 Unless you are originally from Aurora, Colorado (and now currently living in L.A., as well as being currently 29 years of age), then you are definitely not that particular Renee.

If anything, you are probably way nicer than her (and I still happen to like the name Renee as a girl's name, by the way).

  • oh wow I love this song

  • Makes me think of cruising down a long bridge in a red sunset in florida

  • Hearing this song brings me back to October 1983, and the girl whom I really liked at the time, named Karen.

The song also reminds of a more innocent time in my life (before a girl named Andrea nearly ran my life into the ground just two years later in 1985).

Well, at least I can remember the really special women in my life whenever I hear this song nowadays (Nancy, Kim, Karen and Amanda); whereas both Andrea and Renee, on the other hand, can go jump in a lake.
