World Vision Child Sponsorship April Campaign (2008)

The New Internationlist magazine an an editorial on the eve of the Interntaional Year of the Child in 1978 it said 'Please do NOT sponsor this child. There are better ways to help". Nothing has changed except the slickness of the marketing camapigns of World Vision. Child sponsorship doesn't work. The best thing you can do for the children is to sponsor the MOTHER.

So true.. just by cutting down on things that you don't need , you are actually helping a child. It's a good feeling trust me guys.

Some of us think we are doing it tough... I am a Uni student and am always counting my pennies. But I figure a few less coffees a week means I can actually afford to sponsor a child. We just have to put it into perspective :)

Have less children in Africa. Stop sponsoring, Ehiopias under famine yet its population doubles from 35 million to 75 million? Europeans are priviliged and have all the food in the world yet our population is on the decline and in the negative. Anyone else see a problem here?

Animals in the wild aren't taught this and dont wear condoms yet they seem to just manage fine.

Yeah this is great. I'm fromt the US and my youth group is sponsoring a girl in mexico through WorldVision. Her name's Erika and we've collected so much money we might even be able to sponsor a second one!
