Cajon is orignally from Peru not from Austria. The " Cajon" was used to play afro peruvian music when the slaves came from America to Peru traded by the Spanish.
That is a really good system for turning on and off the snare. I've never seen one as handy as that. Is there any chance you could explain or show how that works inside. cheers.

You could put sheepskin or some thick felt or on the snare-pull to make it quieter.
