the vid is definitely my favorite one XD awesome camerawork! and although I miss a couple of injuries and a bit blood spitting I think you did a great job ^^ the sound is great...action, strong and fast lines,... yeah the chorus was good and the instruments powerful :-)
Oooo!!! I've had a sneaky pre-listen to the new album and it's AMAZING! Easily my favourite Kiwi band of all time. The 5th Degree is in-store on Monday 11th October. Buy it and support great New Zealand music! These guys are bringing back hard hitting, guitar smacking, drum twatting, head rocking, brow sweating rock'n'roll to our airwaves! This is gonna be the soundtrack to our summer! Check out the first two singles as well - Want It, Need It and Breathe.
Singing parts were sung fast as possible then slowed down with twixtor keyframing corresponding mouth shapes.. Fighting was mock-slo-mo (counting snare hits) with exagerrated swings and impacts once we discovered they look the most kooky and uber violent when re-timed in twixtor.. No audio playback was used during shooting.. Took 4 days to devise and choreograph.. And 2 days to get the best take (last take with part of 2nd-to-last take spliced in! Yes there is a cut)
@raphabadboy It's an effects plugin called Twixtor. You can keyframe the footage speed changes so they ramp up and ramp down between the areas of lip sync.
first they shoot some video free-style, they get all the elements they want on camera (the lip syncing, punching, etc) , but they don't worry about timing them, then they take the footage and throw it into after efffects along with the music, they put markers at the key points in the music (eg where they need to put the lip syncing) and then they put keyframes for frame numbers via twixtor at the points in the footage where those key events happen, and then drag them so they line up
Just saw these guys from front row at the Beerfest - they KILLED! Awesome set, and just had to check them out on Youtube afterwards. This vid is gold.
filmed in an old WWII turret housing in Karori, Wellington, NZ. Another great band from NZ. Went to primary school with the drummer (black jersey). wish the quality was better
What an awesome video!
