i just bought 1 on sale this morning. it was awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i tried it and it works gr8 i totally reccomend it. it leaves ur hair slightly shinier and tons healthy looking and soft!!! i got the purple one lool the guy at the store had a whole bunch of them ready 2 use and tested out curl/flip/wave/straight in my hair and i instantly fell in love right dere. it was a really good profit! but gotta buy some heat protectant b4 using it again....HEATS UP SOOOO DAMN FAAAST!

its supposed to turn off once it's fully heated, but since you are using it constantly, then (like mar3shka said) it will go on and off.

Hey I have that strightner as well (the purple :) ) and I would just like to say that It's amazing but I have one problem and that is the red flshing light goes on when I turn it on but someimes it goes off shoudl I retun it? does that happen to you to?

yea thats totally normal it does that because it heats up fast so when u stop using it it goes off by itself and then when u start using it again the light should go back on

I bought my amika just recently, the only thing that is different with the amika vs sedu, chi etc is that amika doesn't have different heat level. When I use mine I see steam coming out now is that normal because obviously that means the straightener is on high or is real hot. I love the amika but I am concern whether this product is safe for hair compare to other product? What is your suggestion? Does anyone else notice the same thing as well?

the amika does have heat setting mines goes up to 200 something you have to turn the nob and the steam is good for your hair the man at the counter told me that it is all ceramic and the steam is good so dont worry about it if you are relly worried then use a heat protecter

I just got the zebra print amika for my early birthday and when the guy at the mall kiosk did my hair it make it really soft and shiny, but when I used the one I took home (I picked it out for my bday gift) it didn't make my hair as soft and as shiny as the dude who did mine. It also didn't show steam. Is there something wrong with it?
