Did you ever run this bike down a track? i had my heart set on the side shots for my 2011 apple green nightster, but i was looking into the blackout 2 in to 1 system as i have been told it will make more power.
Yeah, you can buy an aftermarket seat from harley or some 3rd party. There are plenty of options. You'll just want to raise the rear shocks to the highest position to avoid bottoming out. Thats how mine were set up for normal riding, but it would still bottom out at times. I would recommend aftermarket shocks as well.
I traded it in because the rear fender began to rust. I never had it in the rain, it was always garage kept, and never in any accidents. And Harley was extremely difficult to work with, telling me they'd fix it then going back on their word.
First off i dont understand whats wrong with my clothes or why my regular-style hat is 'goofy.' i never feel like doing my hair so i throw a hat on.
Second, would you prefer me to wear a leather vest with american flags, eagles, and other patches sewn all over it to have a more traditional harley-rider look? (nothing against those that do)

does anybody know of any harley type bikes that are 400cc or lower, i wanna learn to ride but in the uk i have to ride up to 400cc 33bhp bikes for to years before i can ride more powerfull bikes and i dont wanna be riding some shitty moped or something for two years, anyhelp would be much appreciated, thanks
@INT3RNAL0BL33DING I'm not sure about Europe, but in the United States the smallest Harley you can buy is 883cc. Unless i'm mistaken. I'm not sure if they offer any lower-sized models than that or not in other countries. Hope this helps a bit!
@dragracer464 ok thanks man, i found a few jap cruisers to start with, honda 250 rebel, suzuki marauder etc. i guess they r better than a shitty moped lol
@INT3RNAL0BL33DING maybe look into a honda rebel 250cc? cheap bike but a good ride. i rode one before i went out and bought a nightster and im only 18 years old. harley does not make anything under an 883
@INT3RNAL0BL33DING the only i hate about it is that it has a stupid idle its like a rough lope but sounds coom but its makes you always think somethings wrong cuz it never idles the same when you start it
A few times my one neighbor complained because i would ride it home from work. And i work 3pm til 11pm so rolling home at almost midnight mustve woken them up haha.
And the last day i owned the bike i flogged it up the street one last time and my one other neighbor complained. Only the older neighbors (~60s and older) complained. The younger neighbors, luckily, didnt seem to mind it.
Coming from a guy with the name skullkiller123 hahaha! You must be like hardcore extreme or something. Thats certainly not compensating for lack of anything...
Its ok that you wish you were me. I understand. But hold up... Designer t-shirt? Thanks for thinkin so but thats no designer t-shirt. You crack me up. Also, 'bad man' - im not tryin to be at all, im a very nice guy.
He looks like an average guy to me, nothing bad man that I can see. Average Tshirt with a cartoon on it, and a regular baseball cap. I wear a cap on bad hair days, doesn't make me a bad ass. Just makes me guy covering up his bad hair.
@CafuniFitusu Lol i meant the bike, hes driving a harley which everyone noes there a badman bike, dont dilute its rep by driving around with a goofy cap and a goofy t shirt, the bikes are appreciated for the rep and qulity.
Thats actually a Harley stock paint job. I like the sort of 'military' look it has. I think most people went for the all black or orange/black paint jobs.
hi,I like your bike...the colour is for young people like us tremendous!.
im gettin those side shorts too..ever had any problems scrape'n with 'em on turns?
Do you have the stock bafflers?
Here in the Netherlands, according to the rules, the cops are very strict about exhaust noise. In your vid the sound is very loud, and i guess, in person even louder. Should quiet baffles make any a differents you think?....
@QBNZ thanks! And yeah im sure youd do fine on one of these as a beginner. As long as youre comfortable spending that much money on a first bike, that is.
wow that bike is so sexy! do you think it'll suit a beginner though? I was thinking of having an Iron Black 883 as my first bike, but now that i've seen this, I love it more lol
Thanks! And if youre coming from a sport bike, i would probably get raised springs for this bike, or at least adjust the stock ones to the highest setting. I came from a cbr600 and then when i got on the harley i was scraping the kickstand and peg feelers quite a bit. After i moved my springs up to the highest setting it did improve quite a bit, however.
Im not sure exactly what the 0-60 times are but im sure this thing would do an easy mid-12 second quarter mile. My guess for 0-60 would probably be in the mid-3 second range, maybe 4 seconds. It has tons of low-end power.
@95beretta not to be a dick but the nightster 1200 is only two grand more than the iron 883. by the time you get the big bore kit and have it put on you might as well have bought a nightster. i have the nightster and my wife has the iron 883 and she likes riding my bike more than hers! lol
Hey dragracer464 nice bike...I agree the green accent makes the bike look badass. Hopefully I can get rid of my crotchrocket and tone er down to one of these bad boys.
hey I need some advice here Ive been dreaming of this bike for over a year now im 18 and ive wanted a motorcycle for a few years now Ive never owned one before Ive got the money and im willing to spend is this a good bike for me im about 6 foot 2 and 215 pounds
@telestrat52 I'm 6ft so the extra 2" shouldnt be a problem for you. If i were you though, i'd get the forward controls instead of mid. The mid controls may be a little cramped for you.
Nice bike man, ive been thinking about getting into a Nightster recently, not sure though, im considering either doing a Nightster or a Wide Glide, i havent owned a motorcycle before and im totally in love with the new Wide Glides (in black, dont like the flame paint at all, too prissy for me) but theyre way more expensive than the Nightsters and they're a bit bigger, im thinkin itd be easier to start on somethin smaller and work my way up when i get comfortable, any advice?
@Ratmouth66 Well i've never ridden a wide glide so i cant really help ya there, but the bike is definitely easy to ride. The only thing i'd watch out for is if you plan on doing any moderate (or above) cornering, then i would definitely buy some aftermarket shocks because when harley designed it they sort of had to sacrifice some performance to keep that low profile look - resulting in poor cornering abilites. Overall a fun bike though!
@260191894 It isnt too terribly bad but i wouldnt say it is comfortable by any means. The seat is like a rock and the suspension travel is non-existent.
@IYI00Ch Thanks! I am 6ft tall. I must say though, i just traded the bike in. It had bad rust forming on the rear fender. It's a 2-year-old bike that was never ridden in the rain and was ALWAYS garage-kept and Harley didn't want to help me in any sort of way. Basically, they tried to blame me for it. So, i would like to say to anyone living in Pennsylvania, DO NOT DEAL WITH APPALACHIAN HARLEY DAVIDSON!!!! They act nice until you buy the bike then after its just horrible customer service!
@herecomesBronson Yes, after having the pipes, super tuner, and new intake i had it remapped. I actually had all those accessories put on from the factory and didnt get it remapped until later. It feels much better now and has much better throttle response. It gained about 2-3 max HP and TQ, too. I also now get 50mpg instead of a lousy 38-42mpg like i did before the remap. They dyno-tunes are expensive but definitely worth it imo.
@herecomesBronson Sounds like an awesome bike you got there! And thanks for the compliment, i love my Vans - best shoes ever lol. Oh and watch for rust forming on your rear fender. I hope it is a non-issue for you but on my bike - always garage-kept, dry, and only 6000 miles - has rust all over the edges of the rear fender. And of course its only 3-4 months out of warranty so now Harley may not fix it. :(
...and part of blue ridge parkway and back and the bike did an excellent job despite the stock seat hurting. It got between 50-52mog on every tank too.
@lucas138ETF: i was 18 when i bought this, 20 now, and i dont mind telling you my insurance cost, its around $450/year for full coverage.
Also, YES, it is true that the stock seat really is THAT horrible! If you hit any big bumps, you will feel it send a jolt straight up your spine, and for long trips it wears out your butt very quickly!
On the other hand... If you have a good seat, then the bike is excellent for long trips! I just drove from hershey, pa down to skyline drive and part of bl
hey man love those pipes! im only 19 and plannin on getting a nightster or 48 in the next summer or two. Since you look pretty young, im hopin you could tell a little what your insurance rate is like. i mean if ya dont mind me askin.. thanks man and enjoy that beauty!
@skaterock7734 If you're not seeing a proctologist now, you will be if you keep this stock seat. I'm steering my daughter towards a custom made one, or a Mustang. I'm an old man, but even my daughters (18 and 21) bitch about how uncomfortable it is.
@skaterock7734 Are you buying a new Nightster? You might save a fortune by looking at one on Craigslist..one that already has the pipes and race tuner. People are selling them pretty cheap..I guess most people haven't heard the economy is better..or maybe the politicians are just lying, but why pay for a new one when you can get one that's already pimped out for you at a fraction of new.
@floatpool To tell you the truth im not sure yet. im thinking of getting one in march, which is not anytime soon really. Ill have time to think about it.
@floatpool I highly doubt any long trips are in store for me. I wanted a sportster, im mainly going to be on the highway for short periods of time or cruising around downtown/neighborhoods ect.
Thanks! I really enjoy riding it. The stock seat is about as comfortable as a brick after 80 miles or so, and the stock setting on the springs makes cornering close, but I adjusted the springs to the highest setting and now clearance isn't an issue. If you get one I'm sure you will like it!

Thanks! I really enjoy riding it. The stock seat is about as comfortable as a brick after 80 miles or so, and the stock setting on the springs makes cornering close, but I adjusted the springs to the highest setting and now clearance isn't an issue. If you get one I'm sure you will like it!
