it's cool you taught your horse to bow too! how i trained this horse to smile was just by giving him treats whenever he yawned, and he finally learned to just open his mouth whenever i pointed up.
i've watched most of you vids and i like the way you teach your horses tricks! i used you vid to teach my horse to bow but im wondering how did you train this horse to smile? i've always wanted to know how its so cute!!
thanks and sorry for the late reply. :) i just caught him yawning and stretching his mouth...and every time he did it i pointed to the ceiling and said "smile"...after awhile, he smiled when i did that and i gave him treats. ^^ now he does it on command and for fun all the time! XD
I know why they do this. I am a horse expert. When they smell a strong odor they lift up their top lip, therefore they look as if they are smiling. How cool is that? I love horses!
i know what that looks like...it's called flemen or something...my horses do it usually when they smell salsa or spicey stuff...but this is different, he does it on command almost like he's stretching his mouth. ^^
aww! very cute, i bet when people come over to your house they get a laugh. ^^ well, i have heard of welsh cobs, and other cobs...but the only ones i have seen are gypsy cobs.

But unlike my mom, at least I can tell the difference between a horse and a moose(elk):D My mom: omg, did you see that ugly horse? Me: mum, that was not a horse, that was a moose. Yes, 4 real!
haha! you're kidding me!? that's hilarious! well, quarter horses can run 1/4 of a mile faster than any other horse, that's why they are called quarter horses! ^^
well..he was probably right on that occasion, but Nikki does this on command..and he can only do it when he doesn't have food in his mouth..and he's been doing this for three years, so i'm pretty sure he's not choking. Thanks for your concern though!

I wish i had a horse. But my uncle does so i visit him often and all my time working in the horse stalls i have never seen a horse do that!

yup! he is. I've got two quarter horses, Nikki and Skip. The others are appendix, half arabians, and a pony. They're all good fun!
