  • and it's only like $100 on newegg

  • Yup! I crapped my pants..

  • this one is the older test ver i think....but there is another by the same name and it must be the newer one and its called the NIA and so far it works preddy dam good from what i have been watching!!

  • UT 3

  • Apparently if you get good at it you wont even need to use the mouse?

  • Probably true.

  • It doesn't READ minds, it just analyses the parts of your brain being activated and responds to that.

  • No, it just senses muscle movements and reacts to that. It does not hook up to your brain.

  • neural impulse actuator i dont thing neural has anything to do with muscles just brain waves

  • Read about it, it is just sensing muscle movement.

  • Uhh no... any time you do anything your brain puts off forms of electrical fields... when you move anything or feel or see it has different waves.. This senses those waves if it was detecting muscle movement you would need a mask or something...

  • it uses eyes movement, alfa vaves, beta vaves and muscules.

  • Fail.

  • no, that would be called a movement sensor or a muscle actuator. I dont know if you've noticed, but this is a NEURAL IMPULSE ACTUATOR

  • apparently it is 60% faster than using the mouse. I assume there talking about all mouse usage like primary and secondary firing as well as movement

  • I talked in person with this guy on CeBit and i tested the brain actuator for myself. It works with face muscles. If you relax you move forward, pull up an eye brow means fire and if you want to jump you have to swallow :D

However, it couldn't convince me to put it on my "Must have" list... not yet :D

  • How does this work?!

  • i wonder what happens if u think "win the game"

  • Nothing. :D

This little thingy doesn't pick up your thoughts , but the nerve impulses of the muscles in your face. Which means, for example, that you can strife by raising a brow or shoot by clenching your teeth.

I was able to try it at the CeBit last week. Great feeling, but it was difficult finding out which "grimace" triggered which action. And I suppose it will be difficult keeping the "grimacing" up for a very long time. So I don't think it will do much good in e-sports.

  • nice!

  • I think this will become gamers 1# choice, since this eliminates the "reaction time" in games (if the machine can keep up of course)

ps. I dont still think that you`ll get significantly more Headshots than before...you`ll just win the AWP vs Scout match easier when using scout..(I hate it when I shoot the guy first but I still somehow die before he do and stays alive -.-*) :D

  • TBH I don't think I can move my lips or my eyes that fast repeatedly to compete with how many click I can get per second. But I can't wait to try this and bind it to my synthesizer :-))

  • you still aim with the mouse, but firing and movement is all controlled with the headband thing. notice that he isnt clicking or using the keyboard at all.

  • lol if you actually LOOK at the mouse, you'll notice that he's hardly moving the mouse enough to get such movement in-game. The mouse is there to stimulate the brain to send out specific nerve-reactions which are then interpeted by the Actuator into actual movements. The mouse is just there to "help" the user send out the proper nerve-signals.

  • Actually there's another vid of this with sound where another guy is explaining that looking is done with the mouse, but everything else is done with his mind directly

  • you think that thing can read your mind? then you are pretty stupid

  • Due to ideomotor movement "reading minds" becomes rather easy. Just depends on you definition of mind reading.

    Mentalism is so much fun.

  • my definition of "reading minds" is exactly that, pick up thoughts. The device just picks up the signals from when you do things like raise an eyebrow, swallow etc.

  • Whether it picks up signals from facial movements or brainwaves, it is still reading the mind. Touch something to see if it is hot or use a thermometer, you're still find out it is hot. Just different methods.

  • no it doesn't read the mind since you actually have to do something to make it pick up the signals. If it was really mind reading, you could just stand there and think about doing something. If you had the device on your arm and it picked up finger movements, would you still call it mind reading?

  • Yes, as the finger is moved by the mind. Mind reading does not specify that it is done all the time or to every thought.

  • Exactly Razel, it reads brain aves for some things and reads facial movements for others. At least during the times it is reading brain waves, it is "reading your mind" by pretty much any definition.

  • Its not READING the mind or deciphering code per say its just sensing the signal your brain emits.. in a technicality you could call that " Reading " its just a simple device with the code to see changes.. it doesn't read facial movements themselves it senses the fields your brain makes when you do move whatever muscles..

  • If you don't think it can read your mind, you're pretty ignorant.

  • If you think it can read minds, you're pretty stupid. Look at the name of the device dammit, Neural IMPULSE Actuator, it works the way ksthebest stated.

  • No, you only shoot/buttonpress with the neural interface thingamabob. You still aim with the mouse.

  • yeah but he is pressing no buttons and is only moving it.

how does he shoot, move, and do everything else? by thinking, of course

  • how well does it work? would it improve my game?

  • Thats what I been saying....

  • This has to give you cancer lol

  • Lol, no. It doesn't give out any sort of signals or anything. All it does is monitors and interprets alpha/beta waves, muscle movement and eye reflexes. Not a chance in hell could that give you cancer, haha.
