Coleman was one of the best wrestlers to ever try MMA. Despite a losing effort to Shogun in 2009, Coleman was still able to keep it a competitive fight & repeatedly took Shogun down at will. One of my favourite fantasy mathups would be Coleman of 1997 when he weighed 250 taking on Lesnar of today. I think that would make for an interesting fight. I have no doubt that Coleman in his prime would be able to take down Brock with a single leg or a double leg.

U gotta admit, wrestling is the best base to start of MMA. Coleman was a monster in his prime. It's no coincidence that Brock Lesnar is the HW Champion. NCAA Wrestling champ, plus I don't think anyone in MMA even comes close to his Superhuman strength.

In his early days, Coleman was the man! If you compare fighters from his age group, I'd easily rank him #2, 2nd to Randy Couture. Maybe Sakaraba would give him a good run. Today, he would destroy most fighters his age. Frye, Ruten, Severn, Shamrock, Pat Smith, Royce Gracie wouldn't stand a chance against him today. Sure Coleman was one dimentional in his wrestling. However, he had the strength advantage over most opponents. In the 205 div, he may be the strongest.

ANd if you think OSU wrestling is special, look up Brandon Highs wrestling program.
