Jack's are to me the best little powerhouse dog a person could have, If your up to the task.

However if your lazy get something els (cat)

I love my little JRT (ROCKY) by the by his ears stay down only go up when his interested in chasing deer or other dogs. Don't really care if his pure or not his my best mate and thats all that matters.

Some jack russells that are full blood have ears that stick up and dont fold. If your dog was a showdog, this would be a bad thing, but if he is just your best friend then it won't effect anything.

@mrnickkd Their ears are not meant to stay up.If one has his ears up then he isn`t a jack russell.He`s a mixed breed.

@mrnickkd lol, something other than a jack russel in the past generations musta sneaked a quicky in.

They were bred originally to have the ears down so that when they were burrowing after foxes or whatever the dirt wouldn`t get in the ear canal.Least that`s what i read.

@mrnickkd i`m no expert but i have always heard that a full blood JR ,his ears stay down. My dogs never go up not even when he hears something. But that might just be the way he is,IDK why for sure.
