Im not sure if I know any producer who drastically changed their style of beats throughout their career it usually stay kind of the same. Every producers isn't a master of all genres of music. Although they became producers being influenced by many genres. As an artist I would hire DJ Premier to produce classical songs, I wouldn't ask Elton John to make some hardcore heavy metal, I wouldn't want a dentist to perform heart surgery on me etc...
