  • Wow, Just learned today that Gary's version was a cover.. Found out by Gary himself.. Still an awesome original and awesome cover by him.

  • After reading some of these comments I went to Gary Allan's page and really listened to his version of this song. I have to say I really liked it so listened to several of his songs with a totally open mind. This song that he sang was an attention getter but the rest of the ten songs or so that I viewed were just good but not great. Everything that Waylon sings is off the charts wow factor so I have to say Waylon wins yet again.

  • Man I love this song. And I love Waylon. Thank you for putting this up. I ordered "the eagle" because of this song.

  • Never really pay attention to country music but Waylon is the vast exception.

  • @bucinaus Well thats great and thanks for commenting, your welcome ..take care .

  • both versions, waylon's and gary's have their unique aspects. I never heard waylon's until today. i like them both, but gary's will be the one i listen to. thanks for posting this so i could hear it. :)

  • @atrainvk89 Your welcome thanks for commenting

  • Now, I love Waylon's music but I really prefer Gary Allan's version of this. Waylon does the song a little too upbeat for my taste.

  • @alamanderflash There is nothing wrong with that it is a fair comment and i appreciate you saying so thank you take care

  • @MiddleMadMen It is down to the listener and there own preferences, don't knock anyone

who thinks differently i just agree on the Waylon point, but for me he was the greatest ever and that includes Elvis and anybody else you care to mention

  • Just gotta agree ....................100%

  • I knew this was Waylons song but could never find it. Allens version never hit the spot. Great!

  • @jrodweldon well i am glad you enjoyed it....tc my friend

  • @wildthorn990 Thanks fior commenting

  • @teddie488 tedd man i love the great old country singers it dont be much better than this unless you crank it up full blast

  • @jrodweldon Allen's version couldn't pull off the genuine emotion that Waylon had.

  • @hinderbaby2010 Waylon is the best ...

  • I never tire of this one...hmmm...I wonder why?! lol

  • @teeger66 Hi Teeg ..i know why because you have to have your daily dose of Waylon and this fits the bill ...take care hi joe

  • Had never heard this version... have listened to Gary Allan's cover for many years. Thanks for posting for us.

  • Your Welcome

  • @krazy4ga i thought it was a gary allen song too glad we found it

  • I just love this one! There ain't too many of Waylon's songs that I DON'T love!

  • Thanks teeger point taken

  • haloheart.......Waylon recorded the track first, just never released it as a single. Kent Robbins wrote the song.

  • Thank you

  • How proud Gary must have been to have one of his Heroes "Idols", re make his OWN song.... so cool !!

  • Waylon would make a good job of any song ... he puts his own stamp on the songs

that is why we love the guy

  • @haloheart94 are you talking about this song "Her Man," because Waylon Jennings didn't remake, he did it originally in 1990. Gary did a cover.

  • waylon or gary??

    Great Song never the less

  • Only one for me my friend tc

  • absolutely great. Thanks for puttin this up teddie, Waylon's the man!

  • I believe you thx my friend

  • I love this song. Also love gary's version, but, Waylon has his own style and he kicks ass

  • Thanks for the comment tc

  • Love the lyrics. A guy in love..great post.

  • It does happen to some of us guys too lol

    thanks for the comment

  • Hope so...lol. Great song:-)

  • great song yeah come on country rocking

  • Thx for commenting agree 100%

  • I had no idea this song was done before Gary Allan! Waylon is really the best ever. He doesn't get the credit he deserves. No offense to Johnny Cash, but Waylon was musically more gifted and did more for the genre with less fanfare. He took country music in a new direction in a way that no one else has since (well no one else has shaped it in a good way; you could argue Garth and Shania took it in a new and crappy direction).

  • erik thanks for the comment i wouldn't argue with you, Garth and Shania did take lead country in to the crap period, it finds itself in today and Nashville encouraged it. Thank god we still got Willie and KK, Merle and George and couple more like them but it is headed the wrong way still for me

  • Wonder what Jessi thought of this song.

She loved him so much...she always forgave him! and he loved her back...

  • Waylon found the woman who was better than most..............and he turned a new leaf, it's all there in the song. nice thought, teeger why do i think you are a nice big softy ....God Bless

  • Because I am? I love romance!

...and these two were the most "in love" people I have ever known.

  • I 100% agree with you teeger(;-)

  • WOW!! This is the best version of this song ever!! Thanks for sharing Eddie!!

  • yea i agree ray

  • Teddie, You've out down yourself on solid gold of Waylon's music. What album is this song from? Its a gem...a lot of women have fantasies about hearing words like that! Nice work on the slides too.

  • Hi Sandy thx for the nice comment it comes from ''The Eagle''

  • Eddie I see you are using a new color for your photos a (different look) Nice choices as usual great tune I can see your a very dedicated fan I am waiting to see you sing another song of Waylons also when you get around to it.........Mela :-)

  • I had only heard this song as performed by Gary Allan (which is worth checking out), but this version is better.... slower, more feeling, and of course Waylon's vocal which no-one could compete with!

  • Michael thanks i would always pick Waylon even if he was singing ''grand opera''.... ok may be that is stretching it to far

  • Good tune and great pics of Waylon..ty for sharing

  • Lucy thanks for your comment always look forward to 'em
