  • Got here from a PruAus fanfiction. <3

  • Im new to classical music but i think this piece is great

     Thanks for posting!!!

  • Very nice interpretation. Very, very good grace notes and I really love the ending. The slight intonation problems in the piano give this recording a very nostalgic and melancholy feel, like rain running down a window pane. (The pianist does need some work in playing Chopin's style of rubato.) But, again, it's wonderful performance. I'm going to go play it now at the piano for myself.

  • SO FUCKING BEAUTIFUL!

  • I really enjoy the slower interpretations of this piece. Most pianists rush through this prelude, IMO. It's much better slow.

  • @Splooie128 However, since it is about raindrops, there should be some sense of momentum.

  • Una excelente obra del gran maestro Chopin,

  • EJOY!!!

  • Believe.

  • This song opened my eyes to classical music and how much raw talent there was behind it all.

  • I think ya'll gettin' trolled by silentsniper.

Seriously though, Chopin was a god among men. I can't believe I haven't listened to him until recently.

  • This is the most beautiful sog i've heard to date.

  • Could you possibly upload a higher definition version of this piece?

  • Listened to this while doing physics... Needless to say I got all the right answers at the first try.

  • this song shows life and its end in such away we dont understand

  • The only bit that is ok is from 3:00-3:29

  • @VsilentsniperV umm, everyone, dont feed the troll. shank yew :)

  • @VsilentsniperV Shut THE fuck up and enjoy the music.

  • @VsilentsniperV METULLZZZ. You're pathetic.

  • @VsilentsniperV cancer of earth you

  • @VsilentsniperV So your response to a classic is to list some mediocre, mainstream avenged sevenfold songs? Please develop some diversity in your taste. ta.

  • @VsilentsniperV thoes bands suck they are like metal and like gay!

  • This song is deep and sensual.

  • i'm 16 and i love this music, thumbs up!!

  • @jjfrizell No. I'm 14 and I listen. What's the big deal?

  • Mein Gott das ist so gut gemacht... ich höre echte Regentropfen!!!

  • how ironic that I should be playing this while it is raining outside.

  • 3:00 onwards is just blissful

  • The drop at 2:20 is like a touch from God.

  • Polak potrafi! Pozdrawiam

  • Who is the player here?

Slower than I hear in my head and would play if I had the technique but interesting interpretation.

  • When it comes to soothing relaxing music you can not do any better than Chopin

  • I'm covered with goosebumps.

  • musik from the halo 3 believe ad :D

    chopin <3

  • "A hero is more than a person, a hero is a belief. A belief that, against impossible odds, the world can be saved—and that the world is still worth saving. Heroes inspire that belief in us. They renew our faith and give us that most precious of all gifts—hope. The world needs heroes. That's why, when a true hero arrives, the world will honor him."

  • >>EJOY!!!

  • Im learning to play this piece, truly a beautiful piece of music

  • One knows they are listening to truly magnificent music when, for reasons unknown to the listener, one finds that they are fighting back tears; indeed, tears not of sadness, nor joy, but tears of pure astonishment. Human language cannot describe said feeling.

  • @KiLlEr12231 That was very moving. I appreciate your beautiful words. Thank you.

  • @KiLlEr12231 So true! Maybe it is because music like this touches the soul!! :-)

  • (2:16)

  • I just clicked on this and as I was listening to it I looked out my window and realized that it was raining. :)

  • It is best to listen this song while visiting this site. rainymood(dot)com. Best combo ever.

  • Hi there.

Who is the pianist on this version?

I've tracked hundreds of versions and found none as good as this one..

its much slower than other recordings and the sound of the piano is so beautiful and ambient.

    Help me out :-)

  • @qlauzqlauz I feel the same way.... it seems that every other version I've heard it doesn't quite come close to this. The slower tempo at certain times adds to the relaxing effect...while at others it adds to the brooding darkness also present in this piece. I truly would like to know who plays this as well....

  • Thank you all for clicking on my video and reaching 100,000 views!

  • @LoudSoda Could you please tell us who is playing this Prelude?

  • thanks..this is ethereal

  • I'm learning this piece, and I really enjoyed this. It helps a lot to be able to hear what it's *supposed* to sound like. :) Thank you very much, LoudSoda.

  • See the details of the music and the beauty of his eternal lightness

    Brazil =D go!

  • Believe.

  • maybe if youtube mobile would actually work i could soundtrack a nice storm

  • I love this. So beautiful and just amazing. I forgot how much I love classical music. That and rock are my favorite genres. This type of music is pretty powerful, I wish people would realize that instead of saying it's boring and isn't good. This is amazing.<3

  • I'm Polish and I'm really proud of it! <3

  • @MsCareFailure Ja tesz ;D

  • Chopin is epic.

  • 2:20 Chopin wakes up in the 21st Century. HOW?

  • Amazing

  • Who is playing this recording?

  • Now I must go on a sheet music search.

  • I 'ejoyed' very much ^^ :)

  • @Tigerclaw7071

What?? You know, guys, Chopin has never been married. The only his lovers are George Sand and Jullian Fontana, although she was just his best friend for so long

  • exquisita musica...............

  • Absolute Halo advert

  • This is one of my first classical pieces that i learnt when i was like 13years old, over 10 years later and countless plays and i still do not get tired of it!!

Chopin is by far my favorite composer!! all his 24 preludes are EPIC, his polonaises are good too.

  • this version is not good...

  • Video games, spelling, ya ya ya ya ya.... don't you realize these are the wavelengths of the universe, and they tear at our souls? It takes a genius to present them. Be quiet, and learn. Listen, that in itself is an art. Find true importance in your life, and represent it. Don't be torn down to mediocrity. Cowboy up!!!

  • Noone gives a fuck if this song was on some video game you nimbwit. This is so beautiful.

  • I don't like the taste of jusic either :)

  • well those 2 dislikes means that they have no taste in jusic.

  • thaaaaank you.....

  • @rafael77687able youuuuuu're welcome

  • Thank you everyone for the wonderful comments. I'm thinking of posting more music, any suggestion would be much appreciated!

    -Caleb

  • chopin is just amazing!! i love playing prelude on the piano :) it makes me feel relaxed :)

  • I hear over and over again how composers were trying to capture moonlight, rain, storms, stories, etc. This is probably the only composition which actually does capture something of this sort. I can lose myself in this, and totally imagine a rainstorm, with undulating intensity, matched here be changes from major to minor. Also, it is mesmerizing, emotional, and if it didn't capture nature, would stand on it's on. A true masterpiece! I haven't looked it up, was Chopin close to the end?

  • learn 2 spell

  • @Foxtrot323 I wll MAK shur of that

  • @LoudSoda u splt 'That' wrng, tis tht innit blud (I'm only kidding ;P)

  • so beautiful and dark.

  • reminds me of ww2 before0:00-2:20/ during 2:20-5:20/after5:20-6:54

  • at the begining of the peice its windy and a blanket of clouds is covering the sky

the winds slowly begins to increase shedding along with it few rain drops

    its only drizziling

    but not any more

    the sky is now balck

its raining like there is no tommorow

    lightning lights up the sky

    but its over now

the sun has come out again

  • this music

its just too good for human ears

it contains all the emotions one can feel

  • Yes, this is a song that can earn you genius status.... The feeling is obvious. Most of your mind is actually devoted to emotion. That's why you take a day to "sleep" on any important decision. I can play this, shut off all outside input, and get lost, seeing all parts of the storm depicted. Very few compositions are this explicit, this emotive. If you can't feel it, do you like music at all? Does it move you???

  • is this a song one would be called genius or become famous for making it???? It´s a serious question to all you music experts ! ???

  • is this a song one would be called genius for making it? seriously , its a real question .

  • is this a song one would be called genius for making it?

  • I want, for my funeral, this song to be played, and not a single other word. Just this this music will say everything that needs to be said.

  • @JJFrancio6314 exactly

  • 2 people are lost peoples of the music world

  • i love this so much.

  • Was raised on the beauty of all kinds of music as a child. Chopin will always be one of my favorites. My big brother composed & also played well & I was always at his side. Yes...Raindrops Prelude...magnificent :) So many lovely memories......

  • i really ejoyed this piece.

  • This song is addicting!

  • at 3:05 this song just melts

  • i love his music, if i had the time i would listen to it all day :)

  • Valldemossa,Mallorca

  • bellisimo....its as if he really let the rain fall on his keys.....and composed what he heard

  • Chopin was such a genius. He was/is a master of the piano, more so than any other composer, in my opinion.

  • I LIEK DIS MSUIK SONG COS I PLAY IT WEN HALO IS ON N I KIL DA ALIENS ITS SO FUN HAHA I TRIED 2 PLAY IT WIV CAL OF DUTY BUT IT DIDNT WORK AS GOOD XD xxxxx

  • @TerraZet 4ND H3Y L00k U Wr07E iN 1337.

    Seriously,don´t ruin this Masterpiece with sound´s of DMR´s,Plasma Pistols and Energy Sword´s ;_;

  • I learned today by reading a music book, that Chopin wrote this song while actual raindrops were falling in the building he was in.

Chopin was sick at the time of this piece, and he went on 'holiday' to spain. However, the people there didn't want to catch his sickness, so they 'exiled' him to an abandoned monastary. There he stayed with his wife to be for months.

One night, it began to rain. The raindrops on the roof of the monastary were hitting constantly but gentle.

    Chopin wrote.

  • @Tigerclaw7071 It's rare that someone posts an actual interesting and valuable comment. Thanks for the info.

  • @Tigerclaw7071 actually it was in majorca which is a sunny little island next to spain

  • @Tigerclaw7071 That is almost true. He was in majorca and was exiled partially for contracting tuberculosis. It was also because, George Sand, a good friend stayed with him. They were extremely close and she was his lover for a brief period of time in majorca. The people giving them residence took a potent disliking to them once they realised the two were not in fact married. Ironically, he contracted tuberculosis in majorca but originally went to rest and try to calm down his illness.

  • @Tigerclaw7071 incredible how great artists are inspired by the simplest of things correct?

  • @lianeardo It is indeed my friend :) the imagination is at it's best when simplistic nature is present.

  • Comment removed

  • @Interista94Jnny Haha, well it's because my comment consists of a little meaningful history as well as relivant information. Emotion and fact, it's a nice combo :) I know what feeling you mean as I feel it myself when reading comments such as mine when watching an emotional video/song. So you're not alone on that one!! Thank you for your comment though, it makes me feel good inside!

  • @Tigerclaw7071 Thank you, rain.

  • OMG THIS WAS IN Chopin's piano books.

  • Believe

  • To think that Chopin was inspired by actual raindrops when he wrote this piece.

  • It really sounds like it´s raindrops that touches the keys...

  • You can feel the emotion, and passion of Chopin here, both the desire to relax, and the difficulty doing so because of his worry over his wife and son. Beautiful masterpiece this

  • Your best video. BY FAR!

  • uh this is heart-touching

  • I will "EJOY" this, thank you. lol

  • Sends a chill down my spine when I hear this. Thanks for posting LoudSoda!
