  • how is the audio quality on the PowerShot SX210 IS and generally in comparison with the PowerShot SX20 IS?

  • Is there gonna be sequel to the SX20IS??? Is it announced and when it will be released?

  • WIll canon introduce a 60D

    I hope so

  • only thing that suck with touchscrens is that you cant really hole it by the screen

  • I do agree with some of you, I got my 500D(T1i) two months ago and I thought it will be a good budget pro camera with a extra HD feature. Then I saw the 550D being relased. I was disappointed, I spent a lot of money investing on a camera that I thought will be good for a while, but is not even a year that a new model came out. Since I already got my 500d, ill jsut wait for any firmware updates and save my money on Canon gears.

  • It's not all bad though. Sure, the 550D is a better camera, but they're still keeping the 500D out while the 550D is available too.

Plus your 500D is perfectly capable. Sure, the 1080p isn't really real Full HD, but your 720p is excellent and the camera still has some great image quality.

  • @EuroRocket don't feel too bad, i got one 500D too and i'm satisfied with it :D.

  • c'est un 450d avec la video et des megapixels en plus sans plus canon nous prends pour des andouilles

  • They should try to add another Entry level DSLR for $450

  • @xxAO2012xx

It does existed and called XSI, can be found for 500$ WITH the kits lens

  • well I wanted a DSLR for the $400 price point. With a lens but I guessing they are not going that low.

  • @xxAO2012xx

    Sony Alpha 230 cost 399$

Canon XS Can be found for a little above 400$ too with kit lens

If 100$ is stopping you from getting a DSLR then stick with Point and shoot cameras

A High end P & S camera like ZS7 or HX5 cost less than 400$ NEW with much better wide angle and Zoom range, your 400$ DSLR won't be any good because they use very old technology and bad lens, DSLRs require investments with lens for "WOW" Quality pictures

  • That's not entirely true. A low-cost DSLR can still get great shots. It does come down to the person taking the shots, not the camera.

That said (and as you more or less say), an interchangeable lens camera (like a DSLR) produces better results with better lenses.

  • @GadgetGuyTV

He want a DSLR with Lens for "less" than 400$ he is better off getting a LX3 (350$~) or S90(390$) if he dont plan to invest on decent lens or a decent DSLR body, he will get better results.

If i was giving the choice between LX3/S90 (High end compact with Fast lens) Versus Super Cheap DSLR with Super Cheap Slow lens i will chose the LX3/S90 but maybe that's just me lol

  • I don't care about video but at least canon didn't cripple 1080p on the new 550D.

  • The video capabilities of the new Rebel are what is really exciting! Can't wait to start seeing some samples.
