Decent video recording of the live performance, but WHAT THE HELL is everyone doing screwing around on stage?? Give them all guitars or something....Tom wrote so many freakin' parts in the studio, you would need like 4-7 electric guitars to recreate it and why not? THAT would be Boston =)
You all are missing the point....The so-called "original members" didn't do shit!! Tom Scholz recorded all instruments and Brad Delp recorded all vocals on the first 2 classic albums. The ONLY other person that could possibly be credited is Jim Masdea who did the drums NOT "original member" Sib Hashian....Their asses all got sued by Tom and rightfully so....
Sucks Fran Cosmo couldent sing at the tribute cause of a strep throat or what ever it was he had:( Was and still is Brads best replacement! But Tommy and Micheal still rock!
@jrbostonrocks I didn't say it was E'fin awful. Just not good. And yes i'd still be a little upset if i paid money. Sorry. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I did give it second listen and i still feel the same.BTW,it does NOT state in the description it is a tribute performance.
@KARBELAEZ It doesnt say it in the title but Barry Goudreau is on stage with Tom and thats the only time this has happend sence the late 70's, this performancev was at Brads tribute concert where just a bunch of people got together for a night to remember Brad with slide shows and performances from Ernie and the automatics Barry Goudreas band, Godsmack, Sammy Hagar, and a few others. And Boston's new lineup to date is actually really good and they sound great.
I have seen Boston 5 times and this is the best they have sounded since 78'. Tom thought he could replace musicians w/ studio posers. Fran Cosmo can replace Brad(Rip), Kim is no Fran, Gary is no Barry, and Sib is the real drummer. Bring back the real Boston Tom!!
@undertaker116 Gary is no Barry I like that! And I agree, Barry is a better guitarist than Gary.
Kim is no Fran, but she is certainly better looking (cough-eye candy-cough.)
And since Brad is dead (RIP), the real Boston can never be (unfortunately). Although Fran Cosmo makes a very good substitute since he has the most experience after Brad.
But he now has his own band (Cosmo) which is no Boston but still pretty good, although I don't know what he is currently up to.
@sliferswrath88 Lets face it, BOSTON the band is no more. The real band, ended in '89?? Then they regrouped with Tom and Brad. And now that Brads gone?? Come on man. This aint Boston. Thats like Paul Mccartney having 3 guys join him onstage and call it the BEATLES! No way. Jesus, this is a terrible tribute. The singing is horrible for crissakes. I saw the real Boston 2 times, and this aint them folks
@MegaBob77777 Its not THAT bad it could have been a lot worse. The original BOSTON has been gone since 1980. Sure Third Stage and Walk On are great albums in their own ways, as are most of the songs in Corporate America, but its just not as good as the original 2 albums. And when the 6th album comes out sometime in the next decade I will still rush out to buy it.
It looks like Scholz decided to play the prolonged version of this song on his own. You can see how at about 5:10-5:15 everyone thinks it's over. Then Scholz shows off his sick HSP (Hyperspace Pedal) @ 5:21.
I don't blame Barry for standing far away from Tom. Although Tom and Barry are both great legends, Tom is a jerk which is why there was nobody left from the original Boston lineup except Brad. Brad was the only one who would take his garbage and obsessive nature.
Tne girl can't even get as high as Brad did! Terrible version!

i do NOT like the lead vocals on this.....I'd be mad if i paid good money to see this. Reminds me of a cruise ship performance at best.

Importantly, it shows dreams can come true & Boston can align for the love of a lost one & as a tribute to the rich musical legacy Brad left us all.
Miss ya Brad. RIP

It's true, Tom Scholz is a fantastic guitarist, and made many innovations in music, but he's a complete and utter asshole in general.

Do you see how far Barry Goudreau is on the stage? Far stage right, Tom is far stage left, because they both hate each other.
