Strong grip man. I can only close a #2 one time. I will say however, that it would be even more impressive if you had let your hand open all the way between reps. Starting from a fully opened position is a full close. Only opening your hand slightly is kind of like doing a half squat or half rep on the bench press. It is all about full range of motion.
can someone help me - on a good day i can close the 1 15 times in right and 6 in left but usually im around 12 with right and 3 with left and its been like that for like 2 weeks i cant seem to increase what should i do now that ive hit a platueo
@krisb2k6y you need to train your grip and not only with these grippers. You need to do pinch gripping, behind the back wrist curls, thick bar curls or deadlift and other exercice for grip... if you only train on these grippers, you will not be able to improove...
wow, damn ripped forearms, wish i had that. closing the #2 is a big challange. the biggest coc gripper i can close is the #1.5 for 2 reps. good job on your forearms and grip power.

Now I am landed in some dead point, no progress. This also for my training partner.. But we are still gripping and following everything on youtube and the gripboard.

This is an original Captains of crush gripper, but it is an older one. It is about 5 years old, in that time they didn't have the new stamp that they have now, I can assure you that this gripper is real!
I'm sure you're not a freak, there have been 3 closers that weighed less than you.
Anyway, just because someone has large forearms or benches 400 doesn't mean they have a strong grip. Plus, grippers involve a very specific type of grip.

I do 2 hand pinch and one hand lift monday, grippers and levering tuesday, vbar thursday and grippers friday plus normal weight training. Even just doing grippers twice I only get one strong day and one weaker day, strong day usually being tuesday and friday more negatives than closes. If it feels like a strong day I push myself as far as I can.
congratalations Gripmasters!you are doing 4 reps with only 1 month of training wich is excellent no matter how big your forearms are!you will eventually close #3 very soon.
It took me only about five weeks grip training to shut the #3 by doing severe negatives with the #4 and choking the #2.5 and #3 to parralell with a hose clip and just trying as hard as i could to close them and working my thumbs with pinch work which did wonders.
To: Dunkster, That's exactly what I'm doing, I could only max my #1 3 weeks ago, and I can do it 17 times now, I even overtrained because they're addictive, but I am going to keep it at twice a week, one heavy and one light, I ordered a 2 a few hours ago. His big forearms is going to give him alot of potential. He will probably get the strength much faster than any other guy, thats the difference. Muscles is the potential. He has got it all there, keep training and youll be squeezing that thing like mad... Good work!
i wasnt trying to say that you have a weak grip its just for your size i thought you would have found the no2 crusher easier. Closing the no2 for 4 reps is still very impressive.
Your arms are huge, how come you cant do many reps? It looks like your holding it a little high but even so you should still be able to do more than 4 reps. Its strange to see someone with arms like yours but not the strength to match the size

I can get 16 reps on 1, 6 reps on 1.5 but cant do #2. I did it once in december, but havent been able to do it again in 2008. :(

place your pinky lower
place the dogleg handle of the gripper higher up the hand (closer to baseof your fingers)
this will give you better leverage

I'm only training for 4 weeks with COC right now, maybe thats the reason that my grip is still very weak.
