I was 12 years old when I saw the Beatles at Maple Leaf Gardens in Toronto. I was one of the only girls who didn't scream. I had fantastic seats down front. I loved Paul becuase he was sooo cute but adored John's humour and art. I'llnever forget that experience. i got to see them play twice on thier 2nd tour in 65 and in 66 too! Just recently saw paul McCartney play live in Toronto Aug 2010,
and went with my husband and our 12 year old daughter Leah, who was nursed on the Beatles.I cried!
@taratarotweb Wow I hope you realise how lucky you are!!! My mom was born in 65 lol so I had no chance of seeing them. But I'm glad I can at least watch their videos.
No choice!... he wasn't amplified in any way at all. The whole band really had to fight as the amps where so underpowered, VOX AC-30s against screaming girls, no chance.
GREAT comment....a lot of people are under the impression that Ringo was a mediocre talent who road the coattails of the other 3 Beatles. That is absolutely false...Ringo was a great drummer...kept an awesome beat..he really was in many ways the steady rock that the band could feed off of musically.
I was ll yrs old when the Beatles came to America. I cried when I saw them and wanted to run to England to marry Paul. I lived the magic of Beatlemania. It was awesome beyond comprehension. PLEASE go to my favs and click on ALL MY LOVING. these are 2 fellow "original Beatlemaniacs" from Brooklyn New York singing a tribute to our favorite guys. THE BEATLES MUSICAL MAGICAL GENIUS WILL LAST FOREVER!
The point is the Paul*s geniality with the bass........
He sings........Close your eyes and I*ll kiss you, tomorrow I*ll miss you (ascending with his voice)........At the same time he plays a full major descendig(with bass).......The guitar just plays the chords.
Everytime when come this part,Paul does the same THAT is GENIALITY!!!!!!!!
for sure it doesn't follow the guitar, paul very rarely did this, only on songs like day tripper, even on a song with a riff like paperback writer he rather creates one of the best basslines ever than just follow the lead, or drive my car is a slo a good example, something, i want you (She's so heavy), helter skelter, all some of his best bass playing.
John never ever fit in the Beatles, he always appears in a second ground, and he can feel it aswell.. He needed to be alone, perform as John Lennon.

Hey 1251966LH!! Geniality means friendliness. I think you mean GENIUS, which in Paul's case is absolutely true. Good observation about his playing.

Did you know that Paul plays a major scale descending while with his voice is in contrary motion?
That is couterpoint and is absolutly genial!!!!and difficult.....
How many bass players can do something like that?
¿Sabían que Mc Cartney desciende con una escala mayor, mientras simultáneamente sube con su voz?
Eso es contrapunto y es sencillamente genial!!!
¿Cúantos bajistas pordán hacer algo así?
