  • How is a megatar different than a Chapman Stick?

  • @jfvt21 same technique in general. Megatar is tapered strings, thats one main difference. Standard model is 12 strings. Chapman got a grand stick with 12 strings too but the string spacing on it is way too small for me. There are other things too, like the tiltback string tunerhead and the way you strap the instrument on on, but for me these are the main differences. The chapman stick, specially the stickup model, have a very distinct bouncy sound, but the megatar is more like a bassguitar sound

  • cant believe i sold my megatar. what am i a moron?

  • Very nice playing. Did you have to custom order your Megatar with that tuning or did you restring it yourself that way (and did you need a new nut as a result?).

  • Man, who's the guy who play? is that you?

  • yeah, man, and thats the sound of an unprosessed megatar.

  • Well, then we gotta meet one day!! ;)

    keep sharing this wonderness, plz!

    5* & Subsrb

    Cheers,

    Mike

  • Nice arpeggio composition. I like the 'open strings' effects

  • Nice!

  • is that basically a guitar neck over a 6 string bass, so both tuned e,a,d,g,b,e?

    Is it heavy?

    cheers

  • yeah, you can do something like that if you want, but i have it tuned to eadgc while the bass side is eadgcfb starting at an octave lower. I think its about 4 kg heavy if i remember right. If you're after a double guitar tuning then check out boxguitars or the sg12 stick.

  • The "C" dots are a great idea!I'll be getting a Krappy12 string in a short while and I was wondering about dot position markers.

  • Very nice and clear sound. Where was megatar produced in?

  • Megatars are the most beautiful instrument on the planet. I'm getting a TrueTapper Storm with Black trim and an uncrossed tuning. I'm way too excited about it.

  • Megatars are ugly as hell.

  • like your mom

  • ;))

  • very nice Gary!!

  • hey I like that nice arpeggio composition. Also, I see those C-dots on your board. How do you like them? Best Daniel

  • your c-dots are the best. I many times have hit my foreheads and said "WHYYYY didnt I think of this!!!""

all genius solutions are often the simplest.

  • keep em coming i like how you play

  • Very Clean sound. Awesome!

  • Hey Gary

I really like the rythmic changes you make. Not the normal "dadidadi" on the bassside ;-).
