I had a few sleepness nights while I was living and working in Germany and I used to tune in, then I started video-ing it and take it back to the UK to show my father to give him an impression of the country. As the Aufnahme were taken in daylight, but I'd be invariably watching at about 3:00 am, it took on a strange, dreamlike quality. The radio was always tuned to a state channel, so no irritating adverts. Great stuff and a beautiful country.
