i HATE macs! they are slow POS! and no pcs dont always get viruses, ive only ever had one on mine. thats why there is avg, macaffee, norton (i prefer avg), and firewalls like zonealarm.

Apple would love for you to believe that they are the biggest and best for video editing when in all reality the software on a mac is equivalent to the software on a pc for video editing. My dad bought me a mac. One of the demands he had was that it got to be a mac, so i'm not complaining. BTW, macs have just an awesome operative system!
I dont have the money yet, but i am going to custom build a computer for around $600-800
and the cheapest mac is around $800 and thats got like intel celeron and like 1 or 2g of ram... not to mention onboard graphics... now i know its not a gaming computer but it doesnt even offer a gt 200 series or a 9000 gt series card.. wich even home computers have now a days.. NOT to mention you cant upgrade them at all.. i would rather buy a pc for cheap if money is tight and then upgrade slowly..
Being a PC user almost all my life, and just switching to a Mac this last year, I can say with all honesty that Mac's are just as fast as PC's. When you boot and shutdown, a Mac is WAY faster than a PC. I'm up and running within seconds of turning my Macbook Pro on, and that's a laptop, I don't even know how fast their desktop computers are.
@MikeyD3g ya... if you go from a $20 OEM computer that's 20 years old to a new $9001 mac it better be faster. Let me know when you can boot in 7 seconds like many modern PC motherboards allow with a good ssd and a linux OS.
@MikeyD3g Are you an ignorant piece of shit? Bootup times are determined by the size of the files needed to startup the computer and the hard drive speed. Windows has less startup files and the hard drive speed is faster (macs have a base 5400 RPM hard drive vs PCs base 7200 RPM hard drive)

And they dont give you any convenient removable battery because when your ipod or iphone breaks they make you buy a new one so they earn more money. i only use an ipod classic 160 gigs and itunes. and itunes sucks but it sorts my music. I had an Ipod. It broke, but I could still restart it, but it died within an hour. I took it to the apple store and they took it into the back ten minutes later they came back out and said they couldn't get it to turn on. Now I can't restart it.
