I love both HF amateur radio (DX hog) and CB. The answer to your question is the same as asking why race Nascar if all you are doing is burning a lot expensive fuel and building expensive cars. It's a competitive sport, only the best stay on top. It's a sport for a tougher crowd, not the light hearted. At sunspot hi these are going to be the strongest stations heard around the globe from 10 to 12m. Hams still use 11m/CB as propagation beacons, these guys blast into carrib on Es.
Maybe if the guy SHOUTS MOR EINTO THE MIC or jacks up the echo, then we wont hear anything of what he's saying. Really guys, echo effect on 2 way radio is not cool.
i beleive this is the 4 pill class. tefhunden they use lots of power and hope for good ionic weather then they compete by transmitting lots of power and audio to a recording or "watergate" station and then the winner is jusdged by who was heard loudest.
