@RobCardIV Most 3d technology doesnt apear to be 3d when your not watching it live in person, because when filmed, and watched on youtube.. well do i have to spell it out? You are recording with a lens that is looking from one prospective, but if you were there watching in person you would be seeing that 3d image from two prospectives. Having two eyes is part of what gives the illusion that we are living in or witnessing 3 dimensions. The camera has one eye and you are seeing what it saw.
Anyway a girl from portugal discovered a new way for making transparent electronic's, she has already signed contracts with samsung and many other screen business...
with it u can make almost anything from just a glass, they said it will be used in the future to protect cars even from sun by making the windows all white, and will be used in the store's glasses to put some advertising...
What the Heck were they trying to do?!?!? Send people into a acid flashback!!! "Hey lets have a giant monstourous floating eyeball to demonste our new 3D screen!!" "Yeah that sounds like a great Idea!!"
YUP, to be holographic it just doesnt have to be visible at any angle, but it needs to change view point depending on where you are without any head trackers or anything.
I see no evidence that this is viewable from any angle, or that it's 3D. So you're probably right that it's just 2D. My hypothesis is that it's actually a clear plexiglass screen being used for a rear projection surface. The point of the display is, no doubt to show off the coating that allows for rear projection on a clear surface.
there already is. it's called a heliodisplay. of course it does actually use some sort of a projector, but it projects any image into the air without a screen. it projects it onto a barely visible mist
Is it actually 3d? If you did not notice, a 2d camera cant really reproduce that effect very well (you would have to change angles in realtime to show any evidence of it)
this stuff is not fake.its just impossible to record on video and still having it look as 3d as you see it for yourself irl.
(if you get a chance, look at a Philips 3D WOW in real live (or the 126" orso WOWzone :P which is a videowall made from 9 42" screens), got a chance to look at their stand at the 2008 ibc in amsterda, with several setups ranging from 3d blueray content to on the fly stuff ..but granted it works best with prepared content at this moment)
well if you look at it you could see it,s actualy 3d ,it works in a simmilar way like a lens wich amplifiers the licht so drammatically that once there,s motion it looks like 3d.
who knows there,s a special layer with lenses onit to do the job.
It looks flat because you're watching it from a 2d screen and to see the 3d images you have to look at it witch two eyes, because you cant see two dimensional thing wit only one eye and the camera has just one "eye".
Shark still looks fake.

LMAO your right! We need an idea for 3d screens, Oh! i know how about a floating eyeball! XD
SuperRiderTH 2 years ago
This really isn't 3D. It's a 2D image that is visible at any angle. So the square image seems to float in space but the actual image is still 2D.

yes a single 2d camera can't reproduce 3d images but 2 2d cameras can you should look for the prototype display using 16 camera now thats cool

That be because a camera can't capture exactly what we'd see first-hand (or eye or what it is you use to see stuff with :)
