This fast count came from the boxing match between Tyson and Douglas when Tyson had knocked Douglas down in the 8th or 9th round and Tyson noticed that the referee counted very slow (WWF changed it to a fast count on the Main Event to add more drama)...It took the ref 14 seconds to count to 9...So Tyson was saying that he was robbed because he should have won when he knocked Douglas down...

This match is hilarious...I would watch this over and over with my cousins...We would rewind it and just spend hours laughing and laughing at everything we noticed. Everything here is funny: Vince McMahon's voice, Jesse Ventura's comments, Hogan & Macho's fight, Sherri getting clobbered and ejected, and Douglas taking over with the "fast count" on Macho to add more to the drama.

@21richkid Maybe by 1999 Hogan's constant beating of Macho started to become farcical, but in 1989 and 1990 it made total sense. In 1989 to blow off their big feud; having a shit heel Macho beat Hogan at WM5 makes no sense. And here in 1990, it was a warm up match prior to WM6; what would you expect, Savage to take the title here??? I don't think they wrestled at all in WWF after this.

@peterp21 what you don't know is that Hogan was beating Savage in house shows in the exact same match all through the time following WM5. Every match was the exact same - that was Savage's style and professionalism. Every match they did in every city (non-televised) had this same BS about Savage hitting him with the elbow and Hogan no-selling it and doing the Hulking out. It went so far with it - they used it in WCW as partners, Savage hit Hogan with the elbow to "help" him back up.

I remember this, and boy did this eventually pay off for Vince in the future. Originally, it was supposed to be Tyson being the ref, but he was replaced after he lost to Douglas. Because he didn't use him there, Vince was able to use Tyson during The Attitude Era for the title match at "Wrestlemainia XIV." Now, you tell me which match is more remembered to this day. Savage vs. Hogan on a return match on NBC, or Stone Cold Steve Austin vs. Shawn Micheals at one of the CLASSIC Wrestlemainias.
