@74camarolt I can't say that I have but if it did improve on either power or mileage it's not much. However I didn't experience any losses so that's good!
JUST PERFECT, THANKS FOR SHARING, IM GOING WITH SERIES 50 AND LEAVING THE RESONATOR IN ALSO. DONT NEED THE NEIGHBORS KNOWING WHEN IM COMING OR GOING. LOL
MDS will usually stay on up to about 70-75 mph and it will turn on at very slow speeds like 10-15 mph. this is what i have experienced, i have the 3.92 gear so a little bit higher rpm on the highway. and i dont know if you have an exhaust or not but if you want to see for yourself, you can pull the muffler off (like a straight pipe) and drive around. listen to your engine and hear what it does. its actually pretty interesting.
Im looking at getting the same muffler for my '10 hemi ram. Was your factory muffler and the flowmaster 70 replacement the center inlet offset outlet?
@ZmannR2, I'm still with my stock muffler. I have noticed that between 2200/2400 RPM, you can feel a sort of vibration, with exhaust sound being slightly different. Can this be considered as droning? Does this happen with your exhaust?
@iamblutarsky if you have a hemi, then its the MDS(4 cylinder deactivation) kicking in. my 08 does the same thing. it sounds different and feels like the truck is vibrating. next time you drive see if you notice your rear view mirror vibrating a little bit. hope that helped
@FreeRiderNeal sure about this? MDS should be on at lower RPMs. I can feel when it turns off (going back to full 8cyl) on the motorway because of a sort of slight boost effect, however in that case there's no drone effect..could you clarify? Quite interested on this
Look ass wipe! I had flowmaster on my stock ram an it ran ok. Then I put Magnaflow and it runs much better. I experienced it first hand and don't need a dyno to feel the difference. I even put up a video of it! I didn't repeat this off a book... I did extensive research on the internet and asked a couple of people. That's reflected on the way I wrote. What both of 'em say on their sites is just to sell their product and I could care less where you work.Maybe you tested modified cars unlike me
@gsc1958 Pulling my dads 22ft fishing boat I don't hear a drone. That's why I went with this muffler instead of a 50HD which is supposedly "designed for the hemi". Bit the interior resonance is a bit more on the 50HD so I didn't want it
@tsaintonge1 I didn't notice a loss of power. But I can't say I noticed a gain either. Still feels about the same. Maybe a touch more low end torque off the get go
@tsaintonge1 You lose low end torque with a full catback exhaust system mainly because of larger pipes. Catbacks increase high end torque and high end horsepower so they're better for racing( high speeds). A performance muffler on its own with stock pipes will improve both your low and high end torque which is better for daily drivers... even better if you remove the resonators! A performance chambered muffler is better than stock and a straight through muffler is better than chambered.
@u2bed91 actually u are wrong that a chamberd muffler is worse than a straight threw muffler look at all the dyno sheets on magnaflow's page then flowmaster's page and then tell me theres a difference.. sure on a flow bench there will be but ull never see that difference on any car or truck.. i work with full chassi dyno's everyday... so instead of repeating what u read out of some lame book do some research first...
Ok. Well they make the dodge ram with either a v6, a 4.7 HEMI, 5.7 HEMI, or 6.1 HEMI. I was a little confused just because usually the 5.7's have dual exhaust out the bumper
After I commented I forgot that The ram sport had duals. And in the video It did sounds like a 5.7, I was cinfused because usually all 5.7's have duals. My friends had duals but I also forgot he got a ram sport
Yes. Very! They are nice a deep and mellow. And not annoying ever. No drone in cab but real throaty when I get on it and it's loud enough to let people know there's a beast under the hood

You notice any improvements in the gas milage or power with this muffler? Thinking about going with this or the 50 series HD for my 2010 Ram 5.7.

4.7?

Sounds pretty good. Do you ever consider taking off the resonator?
Hotrodx199 1 year ago
@Hotrodx199 I've always wondered if I should take the resonator off but never have
ZmannR2 2 months ago
@ZmannR2 It probably would have a much better tone, and the drone probably wouldn't be too bad like a 40 series would

@gsc1958 Single. All I did was swap the muffler. Even the resonator is still in place

@ZmannR2 I'D HAVE THAT RESONATOR TAKEN OFF....IT'LL MOST LIKELY SOUND WAY BETTER!

Wrong. They have never made a 4.7 Hemi. And dual exhuast was an option from the factory, having a Hemi
doesn't come with dials automatically
