yeah i forgot the WWF did this years ago. it was called the Brawl for All it was an MMA style points match where you got 2 points for a take down 3 points for a knock down. it was more or less boxing with take downs but no grappling. the winner got like $250k. some of the other wrestlers in it were Marc Mero, who was a golden gloves champ many years ago, it was interesting to see who professional wrestlers did in a real fight.

For those asking about the backstory here - basically Bart Gunn won a shoot tournament that the WWF put on against one of the bigger stars in the company. This really hurt one of the guys they'd been trying to build up, so the WWE desperately searched for a way to legitimise the win.

It was decided that, if Bart Gunn could somehow beat Butterbean, it would make the win seem more legit, and it wouldn't harm the guy they were trying to push. Obviously he didn't manage.
