  • omg why are you so gorgeous.

  • amazing <3

  • maybe I'ma bit daft, but did I miss the part where you spritzed your hair with water-or made it wet in any way, or did you get those gorgeous curls from completely dry hair?!! Didn't even know that was possible...neat! Love the end result regardless of how you go there, but this is really making me wonder! LOL!

  • Whats the names of those songs!!????

  • Oh my darling!

    I Love it! <3 that's amazing

  • I've been watching your videos and I have to say I adore your playlist! Thanks for the reintroducing the music :)

  • love it!!! q: i have curly hair do i still need rollers? thanks

  • @ladydarcy4u It depends, you would have to smooth them out since this look is more of a sleek hair style. You could do it with a curly hair, but naturally the result would be the same.. :)

  • @ClassicRetroGlamour thank u for responding:) ill try it out and tell you later :)

  • Holy cow. That is way too cute. As soon as my hair reaches a respectable length, I am going to try this! The bow and the little rolls in the back are ridiculously adorable. Improvise more often!

  • @serenosaur Please do! ;)

  • IM IN FUCKING LOVE RRRHGGGGGTRHNG

  • cutecutecute!!! *-*

  • That is... so gorgeous!!!

  • My god u look like Eleanor Parker the most beatiful actrres ever. Great.

  • What is the natural texture of your hair? When you do a pin curl set on dry hair, do you already have product in it? The hair will actually curl if set dry?

  • @PrettyPippi My hair is fine, and straight. If I roll it dry, it's probably been curled earlier, and there's some left over product in my hair. But I never do this, if I do it's for a particular reason. I would do a pin curl set on damp or wet hair.

  • xD I LOVE YOU <3 haha um possibly could you do a dita von teese hair tutorial if i'm not asking for too much

  • Where did you get your bow??

  • I love your channel! I can't wait until my hair grows long enough to try some of your tutorials... :/

  • you make the BEST vintage hair tutorials on youtube and your music selections are always beautiful. I love using your videos for a bit of inspiration

  • what a refreshing feel to the retro absolutely sexy sassy look... especially with so much hype these days on the whole Jpop kawaii, Gyaru style dolly, Kpop or Lady Gaga look.... i am surprise i fell in love with this retro sassy style straightaway, given the fact that i am not a fan of retro music or Wed Zouk if you noe what i mean... o n THE last best tickle I love Daisy Bell by Dinah Shore. Heya u really got me hooked on your videos as I am looking at each one now- one by one! WWOW! LOL ;p

  • Do you ever have to deal with people looking at you strangely for your vintage style? Cuz I know in some small towns people are really rude/closeminded.BTW Love your style!!

  • @thoserubyslippers If you're style is a little bit out of the ordinary, people are going to stare or look no matter what. It's human nature, we're so curious. But I don't mind, it doesn't matter if they like what they see, or if they hate it. As long as I'm comfortable, I really could not care less about getting curious looks ;)

  • First of all, this is gorgeous, especially on you.

Second, could you please make a video of all of your amazing old music? I love it :)

  • I think this hairstyle looks the best on you..all of 'em look great though. def will try some!

  • I love the retro look you sport in makeup and hair style. So elegant, glamorous, classy, and feminine. I came across this video by accident but I always thought Eleanor Parker was such a gorgeous and elegant woman with a lot of va va voom. You did yourself and her justice with your tribute and fabulous hairdo. The music was fantastic too! Very well done!

  • pls. write music down on your informations. adorable

  • Sweet!! Could you try a tutorial on Bette Davis' updo in "Now Voyager?" I can't figure it out.

  • gorgeousss. <3

ahh but I have long hair idk how this would go!

  • omg please tell me you do your hair and makeup like this on a regular basis because you can totally pull off all these hairstyles on your videos!!

  • my hair is medium thick do u think i could work with it with ur hair updos?

  • You look truly magnificent.

  • beautifull!!

  • Oh, this is darling!!! I would've liked to see how the back of the head looked in rollers, but otherwise a great and easy to follow tutorial. Will try it on myself soon!

  • I love how you have control over your hair! [=

  • Hi I'm a relly big fan of ur videos but heres the thing with my hair its reaaalllly thick and curly it frizzes and im not sure it will hold like this any suggestions?

  • what is the music?

  • I tried this and did it perfect the first try! I was amazed! lol Great hairstyle and pretty easy too. I didn't curl my hair though besides the bangs because with the bun you wouldn't see the curls anyway. :)

  • God, what do you prep your hair with? it always looks really easy to manage, but not stiff or sticky!

My hair's too slippery a lot of the time to do such precise styling, even on the second day! Do you prime with mousse?

  • You are gorgeous!!! There are not many gurus on YouTube that do these looks, so I'm so happy I came across your videos.

  • @littlered1925 I will tell you another girl who is good at doing retro hairstyles aswell and this is VividMakeup.

These are both good at doing these looks and are both so pretty!

    Thanks ClassicRetroGlamour, and VividMakeup!!!!!! <3 <3 <3

  • This is soooo cute!

    Absolutly beautiful and amazing, seriously!

I'm totally going to be doing this look soon. (:

Thanks so much for posting this video!

    <3

  • You're A Doll!!

  • =D your absolutly stunning lol

  • i'm always amazed by how easy u make it seem.. Really :D

u make it easy for then rest of us THAnks ;D

  • that was fantastic - you are very talented

  • WOW! YOUR SOO GOOD IM JEALOUS LOL. BTW WAT SONG IS THIS??

  • You should try a product called a hot sock. Its a soft diffuser for the end of your blowdryer that delivers the heat without the force of the air and helps to prevent frizz. I highly recommend it! you can find them on amazon.com or a website called folica.com. its cheap and it works for pincurling and roller sets!

  • The bow is so cute! And I love how you did the bangs! The curl on them reminds me of a 1920's look that frames the face just a bit. Love it! :)

  • Love your music too! Would you be able to mention what songs and singers.... Amazing to see there are other ppl out there who love things that I love. Xoxo Ole Fashioned :-D

  • love ur style, it's so rare today that women look really glamorously feminine.. like it's in to look almost like a whore :(

  • @bellabambino6 very true... thank god for us gals that love the art of hair of the old times, when woman where woman and dint look like trannys with soo much make up lol :D

  • U are really pretty and i loved the hair do!

  • I absolutly love this video

  • @sofiasmiles02 Thank you :)

  • So I have a myriad of problems. Number one, I've always loved the vintage look, however my hair refuses to cooperate, so I've mostly given up. Number two, I have one of those asymmetrical bobs I am growing out, however my hair is still very short in the back(prolly still not long enough to roll a medium roller), are there resources you can recommend for me? Number three, my hair does not hold a curl.

Do you roll at night, or can you roll in the morning and blow dry to speed up?

  • @carnivorouskitten try when u do the curls setting wet and using a setting lotion gel. It will hold really well and still be workable .Aslong as u go light on the gel. :)

  • @carnivorouskitten If you haven't tried using pomade to tame the hair, try it.. Really helps. Also styling on 'dirty' hair. Meaning, hair that's not freshly washed. Use a setting lotion to help hold the curls. In my earlier videos I'm actually growing my hair out from a bob as well..I think I managed to cover it up, but I definitely noticed the difference from then, to after I cut it to be longer in the back and shorter towards the front..You need to cut it to get a nice shape for these styles:)

  • @ClassicRetroGlamour You can choose to roll it at night and sleep with the curls, or just blow dry.. But I try not to blow dry... Better to sleep in them :) Saves time and the hair!

  • You totally look like Marylin in this one! That classic one with her in the black dress...Love it! :)

  • @msalicia52 Glad you like it :)

  • Wow! As usual you look amazing!

  • omg dude thats so gorgeous!

    thank you!! haha

  • @musiclover1ism Thanks - dude :p

  • I like it a lot! It's sophisticated and cute at the same time! <3

  • Gorgeous!!! And you have the best music on your vids, SO my kinda music!!! Love it. Is that Ella Fitzgerald?

  • @CupcakeCartel Thanks! It's Dinah Shore singing 'I'm old fashioned' and 'Daisy Bell' :)

  • i absolutely ADORE you! the looks are SOOO pretty and i love them! i'm really into the whole 40/50ies style so this channel is perfect for me:D

    keep the greeeeeat videos coming!

  • @Nuenna90 Thanks for the support! :) Keeps me motivated!

  • This is my favorite! The back is SO cute & elegant :)

  • hello :)

i was wondering how you kept your hair so soft and well, manageable, despite the fact that you bleach it? mines curly and unbleached and positively wild :)

    xx

  • @AnniePancake Sorry to say that.. I don't do anything to my hair.. :S I just bleach it and wash it with regular shampoo and conditioner. I haven't cut it in a year. It's so worn and damaged I can't even begin to tell you... Mine is positively, not wild. just boring and straight, haha.. :)

  • hoi you stylish lady :-) do you know if there is also any hairstyle that goes with very...very very long hair for a classic retro glamour? have a great day! hugs from switzerland!

  • @operaismodern Hmm.. The first name that comes to mind is, Veronica Lake.. Other than that, I think that longer hair wasn't all that popular back 'then..' Check out ilovegerardo here on YouTube.. She's got some great tips for long hair :)

  • @ClassicRetroGlamour thank you very much for your help. i guess i'm going to cut my hair to about the length of yours. huhu....if i don't panic! my hair is ending right where my booty starts ;-) haha..but it's really time to cut them. go on with your work. i like your channel very much!

  • I love your tutorials .. so classy and lady like ... and you have unique styles.. thanks for sharing!

  • @AlexandSteve1992 My pleasure.. :)

  • my hair wont coopreate because it is very thin and fine. I can't get it to hold a curl if my life depended on it!

  • @jleu22 ilovegerardo has a great tutorial on how to get the curls to last.. I can't remember what the video is called though.. I'll find out and let you know! :)

  • Ohh cool! Eleanor Parker is my favorite actress of all time! If I had blond hair, I'll definitely try this. It's amazing how classic actresses can very well wear those curls! I envy you, btw. Great!

  • @Prilpril21 I think it looks lovely on brown/dark hair as well! I got a video response (yay!) and she had dark hair. It looked beautiful!

  • @ClassicRetroGlamour well, sometimes she did have blond hair, or red hair, or brown hair, depending on the role she's playing. But mostly it was dark hair. :D

  • @Prilpril21 Yes, I meant the girl who made the video response :) ^^

  • I love it. I don't if its because you fixed your hair like her's but you kind of look like her. Your very pretty.

  • But if you would have left out the bow...wouldnt you be able to see the hair tie?

  • @mrsmarinewife1 Not necessarily.. I'm sure i could've managed the hair to make the hair tie 'invisible'. Also.. I used a black hair tie.. not the best choice for my blond hair. But then again; why would you wanna leave out hair accessories all together?.. ;)

  • I'll be trying this one very soon! Lovely!

  • @MsFaintlyMacabre :) Great!

  • You make it look so easy! It's just beautiful.

  • Totally adorable !!! Oh and the hair was great too : ) ... between you and LisaFreemontStreet I get all of my retro glam tips !!!

  • You are such a brilliant little ray of sunshine...and you do GREAT hair too. xxoo

    Ashley

  • @LisaFreemontStreet Thank you lovely lady! :)

  • thank you for advice :)) I' ll definitely try and let you know ;)

can't wait for a new video!!!! xoxo

  • omg I totally fell in love with back of your hair!!! I've always wanted to do something like that with a nice bow or another accessory but i have too much hair :) and my hair is too thick !!! :( do you have any advice for me?!

plus: where do u buy your shirts?! I like your style!

  • @sashabluerios Let me just say: I envy you if you have thick hair! Luckyyy! My advice for you, when it comes to this style, is: you can make an even bigger and fuller updo. *sigh* again, lucky. I wish I could try it out on thicker hair..! You can make more sections to be able to pin them down properly.. Depending on how thick your hair is, (I'm just guessing now) Maybe make two big sections and four small..?

  • Thank you for doing my request. I chose the right person to do it. It looks really nice on you.

  • @smallchick451 Thank you for giving me a proper challenge :)

  • I know what you mean! I'm overdue for a trim and I'm feeling quite nervous. A year? Sheesh, girl haha :] Your hair looks so healthy though, I'm kinda jealous.

  • @Rhiannon38 Haha.. Well, don't be. It's reallt worn and terrible. But I don't wanna cut it! ... So start requesting longer hairstyles before I cut it.. :)

  • Wow, this video makes me miss you so much<3

  • @chrismail Aww.. Cutie <3

  • Love the tutorial!!!

Where did you get that cute shirt from?

    Thanks <3

  • @TeddyLush Thank you! It's H&M ;) Nothing fancy *giggle*

  • love it! Adorable

  • This style is just utterly amazing! So simple yet so elegant! I can see how the bangs can be a bit difficult but it came out great, thanks for posting!

  • @cherryrosesea Thank you so much :) The bangs was difficult indeed, but I hope I made it work somehow.. :)

  • What a cute look! I really like what you did with the ponytail at the back!

  • @majinchichi Thanks! :)

  • oh I love this one so classic, great little up do!! Beautiful Job as always

  • I just love your channel! I've just discovered you. Please keep making these videos. They are so inspiring. I've never experimented with my hair until I saw you.

  • @Voyeur53 Thanks.. that's such a great compliment. It makes me so happy to hear that you get inspired :)

  • Your hair is getting long, darling! Well done! I love watching your videos, and can't wait for the next one :]

  • @Rhiannon38 Yes, I actually plan on cutting it really soon.. I dreading it though. Don't wanna let go :p But it's definitley a need for it! Haven't cut it in over a year!

  • Holy crap, you´re beautiful! :D

  • @Lehmann86 Thanks baby ;)

  • Thanks bunches for this new just as amazing hair style like all of your others..your videos are my lucky charm to great hair.

  • @VintageBlonde007 Aww.. you're so sweet. :)

  • i love your videos can u do a tutorial on how you do your makeup please!!!!

and what is the color of your lipstick, i had have a hard time finding a red lipstick that suits me.

    xxx

    ana

  • @veranomyseason1 I use the Julie Hewett lipsticks from the Noir collection. They're a total of six highly pigmented reds in different shades. I really recommend them!! I absolutely love them! Check out her website; Juliehewett. net

As for my makeup.. Do we really need another pinup/retro makeup tutorial? ;) But I'll think about it :) It might just do it.

  • you are truly talented, this hair style(as all your tutorials seem to be) is a work of art. Beautiful!

  • Hard work - but worth the effort! Very well presented.

  • Suuuch a beautiful look!

  • What a lovely bow! Another amazing video.

    ;*

  • Absolutely beautiful! I don't think I've ever improvised a hairstyle just by looking at photos. I understand pin curls and such much more now after years of practicing techniques on myself, but I usually just go by instructions. This gives me inspiration to try it out!

  • @fantabulany Well, I didn't have much choice.. :) You're lucky to be managing the art of pin curling! I'm still practicing, and I need a good portion of patient to go with it!

  • Hi dear!! Love all your videos, thank you so much for sharing with us! :D

  • @yehbutnobutyeh My pleasure :)

  • I love it! :D And I love the bow! Where did you get it from? :)

  • @not0cproductions Hmm. That's a good question. I'm trying to remember.. I think I cut it off something.. An old dress or something. I always do things like that. I collect all kinds of things I might get a use out of later.

  • This is so beautiful, I love it! Is your hair your natural color or do you bleach it? I love this color! xx

  • @PasiphaeTheQueen My hair is naturally blonde, but the bleaching is SO blond that it looks like I have dark hair when my natural hair starts growing out. I bleach it at the salon every now and then, so I don't know the color. However, I'm planning on getting rid of that horrible yellow tone soon. I'm expecting Manic Panic Virgin Snow in the mail! I'm excited!

  • i absolutely loved this one! i may wear this to an event i have coming up. :)

  • WONDERFUL! Youre fantastic!

  • actually....she wasn't nearly as beautiful as you are

  • very beautyfull and elegant style

  • Beautiful. :D

  • I love your videos girl! they're very easy to follow and i like how you made sure to show us how you do your pin curls!! I love this style... I think I might do it tomorrow or Saturday!!!

  • @mannamcnair You should definitely show me the results!

  • I loved it!!! looks very elegant with the bow :)

  • @mrsmarinewife1 Actually I wasn't sure about the bow, but I thought, why not.. you can always leave it out or switch it up by using flowers. Glad you liked it though :)

  • so pretty! Love your tutorials!

  • Absolutely stunning. You do such a great job and break it down into manageable steps. You also have such classic beauty that the end result is amazing :)

  • @feliciajuly Aww... thank you!

  • very pretty....i wish my hair would co operate.

  • @jleu22 Why won't it cooperate?

  • It came out beautifully, I am trying to grow my hair so I can do updos.

  • @tinysjezebel Yes, I'm cutting mine soon, so I need to get the long do's out quickly :)

  • what size sponge rollers are you using or recommend? my mom used to curl her hair that way but not anymore so she gave me her huge collection of rollers.

  • @twishybird Wow, you're lucky! These rollers are about a medium size.

  • @ClassicRetroGlamour ok great! thanks... yeah i play around with them now and then see what i can do... :)

  • You look beautiful. Im glad I subbed! Thanks for all the great tutorials.

  • Challenge or not, I think it looks great! I love the way the bangs look- I think this would be great for a wedding! Good job :)

  • @momtomtse Phew. Glad you liked it :)

  • do you use any products before you style your hair? After i try to do anything,my hair is always a frizzy and never shiny..

  • @punkchips I actually don't use any products before I style it.. Call me weird, but I try to use as little as possible. You can try using shaping lotion before you curl it using a wet set. After you can try using pomade to smooth out any frizz, and it gives the hair shine! Also, when you're brushing the curls out, brush against your hand. My hair frizzes like crazy, but the "hand/brush-thing" really works.

  • Awesome vid once again! Thanks! :D

  • @CloverBurns Thank you, dear!
